Because he is a politically correct traitor to the united states of America. What kind of mouse would do such a thing? One reason is he (the mouse) doesnt want to offend our enemies. Secondly he is a coward. I just want to say thank you to all the fireman, police, first responders, our military and the clergy and anybody that helped on the day of and days following the tradegy caused by the terrorists. What the heck is going on in America? Cant we take the blinders off and demand the government put a stop to this insane political correct cowardice? I certainly hope so for our childrens sake and following generations to come. All I can say is God Bless America, the home of the free and the brave.

I'm guessing he is referring to the decision to not allow clergy to attend in a "clergy capacity" (i.e., no official prayers said over the site at the ceremony). I'm no fan of organized religion of any type, but it seems a bit inflammatory to simply ban one segment of the population. The event affected all people in the US and all people who want to be represented, should be.

That figures, I better keep my ultra conservative mouth shut before I get kicked off the forum. Good thread Jon I'll be watching.

"Freedom of Religon" & "The Right of Free Speech". I am sure I have heard that somewhere.

Ok, on the subject of political correctness and the threat of being banned from this forum for offending anyone I will take the lead. I don't care, I have other places to go for benchrest. First of all, Mayor Bloomberg is a tree-hugging liberal. He will sacrifice everybody and everything to put everyone on an equal playing field, Everyone cannot be equal on the field. There are the givers and the takers. There are those that help themselves and those that expect others to provide for them. I consider myself as a conservative giver. I will give my fair share as I expect everyone else to. The entitlement crowd has a bigger voice than the "self-supporting" in todays mass-exposure media.

Really, we are afraid of offending someone that demands we provide for them or make concessitions for their religious beliefs. As a result, we can't profess what we personally believe. In a free and just state we should be able to practice what we morally and legally believe is just and fair. We should not have to comprimise on our values to protect other conflicting values. This was one of the founding principles of our constitution. Have we forgotten? I am just a middle class working guy with 3 young kids, I would like them to grow up not being afraid of saying or doing what is in their hearts.

Mayor Bloomberg is a perfect example of the type that does not want to see our kids enjoy the same things we did. It is offensive to "some" of the population.

Pleae don't kick me off for opining my personel beliefs, but I hope others believe as I, and are tired of being quiet. Say it like it is.

Has anyone ever noticed that liberals only apply their doctrine of separation of church and state to Christian religions, but they wholeheartedly embrace muslim/islam beliefs. There is a reason for this. Note that I attribute the doctrine of separation of church and state as a liberal doctrine, this is not what is expressed in our Constitution.

Spot on :-X ,..............................

The police and firefighters and first responders were not formally invited as well as the Christians. Welcome to socialism or should I say cowardism.

Thanks guys for responding and giving your views. I have never really stepped out and voiced my opinion. I think there are alot of others like me. It is a sad day when we can't say what we think on the threat of censure. Mayor Bloomberg and his policies are but on example. I really feel for the hundreds of first-responders who can't be where they should be, if they choose, on this most significant event of our generation simply because someone, who was not there on that day, thinks their presence would be offensive to group of un-patriotic, people who may or may not citizens of this great union. Where does it stop? Who are we, and how do we protect who we are?

And I thought that this country (UK) had the pre-requisite for idiotic politicians. Not a good thing to know that the breed is spreading! My mantra now is 'do not encourage the buggers' as they will begin to believe that they are a force for good.
We have got a few good politicians (about 2 from the last count), but for the most part they are just self serving, knee jerk reactionistas, who fiddle their expenses and are all lawyers who wriggle out of the most simple question. Plus in this country they took our handguns off of us, so that will never be forgotten/forgiven.
Question - how do you tell a politician is lying.
Answer - he/she opens their mouth.
So, time to form a resistance organisation and tell them to sod off if they do stuff like Bloomberg. I guess all countries has a 'Bloomberg' and ours went by the the name of Tony Blair (They have weapons of mass destruction, honest!).
Keep on truckin'

And all this time I thought California and the United States were the only places that had "stupid" politicans? ???
They're too busy playing the CYA game. You can vote them out of office but more than likely the next batch will be doing the same thing. :(

political correct ???

By the way: what I don`t understand is the war in Libya.
Gaddafi fight together with the US against Al Kaida for more than 10 years but now the Nato (and the US) help Al Kaida to fight against Gaddafi and to get the strong hand in Libya (and there they can earn a lot of money and the arsenals are full of weapons - including hundret of Scut rockets, hand held anti airplain rockets, granade launchers, helicopters, MIG`s, explosives, chemicals etc...).

In our press we can read every day about new people in the new libyan government. For excample the new military chief of Tripolis - the founder and boss of LIFG (Al Kaida group in Libya and since 9/11 on the US list of forbidden terror groups).

I don`t understand this political correctness - but perhaps I`m to stupid. ::)
