Why I do not miss my .338 Win Mag

Typical you.
Ya typical me. Another person that can't handle the truth. You've got a five stringer across your ass from Sunday so don't take it out on me. You haven't been the same and other people have said the same thing that you've been wound up some hard.

That's my issue to deal with thank you.

I used to think the pre 64 Winchester Model 70's were the cat's ass until I met a old timer that a gunshow in Sturbridge, Mass that had worked at Winchester's New Haven plant for over 35 years. He enlightened me that those rifles were made on machines that were so worn out and out of spec after WWII that he said the only good 70's were the pre war ones. It made a lot of sense to me after that.
I have had several post war unaltered 70s that would shoot less than 1moa with handloads. My best was a feathweigh 30-06 that was good for 0.5-.75". All these were unbedded, stock trigger, untuned action.
One person's opinion is not worth much.

Hey Look. I'm just repeating what a 35 plus year retired employee told me. He should know a little more than any jackoff that has never worked at Winchester.

Does he know more than the accumulated experience of those that have used them but who have been Winchester employees?

I don't know. I just met the guy at the gunshow. Some guy that was at the Camfour booth which is a major firearms and component distributor was talking to him and I overheard the guy at Camfour say to this old timer something about him working at the Winchester plant for over 35 years. I mean you and Palman act like this guy didn't know what he's talking about. I mean seriously. Brand loyalty is one thing but when it leaks into stupidity man some people need to get a life. When someone says something negative about a rifle or car or whatever that they own some people take loyalty to a new level. Talk bad about a rifle that they own and some people would take it better if you told them that you were screwing their wife. Me personally I could give a rat's rear end if someone trashes any rifle that I own. It's not that important to me. Yes I own a 1940 customized 70 in 35 Whelen. I don't care if anyone thinks it's a piece of junk or not. It's only a rifle.

Your broad inclusive statements lessen your argument. I am well aware that the master machinists of the 30s and early 40s probably produced some of the finest firearms ever made. Every production rifle has some quality control issues and the tooling wears. But, to say the rifle was an inferior product is not a fair statement. By the way, the best and most accurate post WWII rifles I ever saw and used were the Browning FNs.
