Most of my Friend's .300 Wby, Targets Looked like, a Shotgun Pattern with, 00 Buck shot at, them as,..
FLINCHING was rampant, by the Owners !
AFTER Zeroing in, a Couple of Them, I was ready to Go,.. Home !

Because the word "Weatherby" Doesn't have the word "Creedmoor" in it.
The 6.5 Creedmoor was not given that moniker or even designed by anyone at Hornady.
It was a creation of Dennis DeMille who was founder and owner of CREEDMOOR SPORTS, a name derived from the original Creedmoor matches of years ago.
In fact, and not many know this, that same design was used when Hornady and Thompson-Center worked together on the failed 30TC cartridge. Sad but true, if they brought that back as the 30 Creedmoor it would probably have a chance to put the venerable 308 Winchester to bed.

They for the most part are only available in Weatherby cartridges. If they would build rifles in standard chamberings I think they would have more success. Used to you could get standard chamberings in Howa version with the Weatherby name on it, not the Mark 5 action.

I apologize in advance for anyone I am about to offend.

To me a Weatherby is white trash, every time I run into someone who tells me they have a Weatherby, I look at them think to myself "of course you do".

Creedmoor goes back to the matches from the 1800's, Creedmoor sports and Hornady had nothing to do with it.

I have a funny Weatherby story.

Way back in the eighties when my wife was my girlfriend, she saw me fondling a beautiful Gen 1 chambered in 300 Wby Mag. I knew it was more gun than I needed, but boy was it pretty with that deep blued finish and beautiful walnut stock.

Three weeks later we were out to dinner at out favorite low dollar steakhouse for my birthday, when low and behold she pulls out a receipt from where she had paid half down on that Wby 300 Mag. It took be a couple months to scratch up the balance to pick it up and another couple of months to scratch up money to buy a used scope from an older friend of mine.

When I finally got around to sighting in in, I held it super tight on the first shot, not even really worrying about where I hit. After that first shot, I thought well that wasn’t so bad, so for the next shot I loosened up some and focused on the target. You probably guessed my now that on that shot I received a nice bloody ring around my eye. Of course after that I couldn’t hit a barn with that rifle, so I quickly and quietly went back to my trusty old 30-30. A couple years later I traded the Weatherby for a set of small block chevy heads for a hot rod 350 that I was building.

Creedmoor goes back to the matches from the 1800's, Creedmoor sports and Hornady had nothing to do with it.
You should learn reading comprehension or maybe I should put my writing in smaller words.
I said Dennis named the round (AND his business) in honor of the Creedmoor Matches of the 1800's. IIRC, Dennis designed the round originally to feed well in the AR-10 type rifles used for a type of match he was very active in? If it was High Power then this is where my input stops due to the fact I have never even had interest in attending, much less shooting, any High Power event.

We have a Weatherby fan in the club. Shoots well with a Mk5 action and a 6.5 wildcat based on some Weatherby cartridge - not sure which one. He also hunts with a 416 - in Africa. I reckon he would buy a toothbrush if it had Weatherby on it.

A while ago, he was telling the guys that he managed to buy a Weatherby scope on our local auction website - and someone was bidding against him, but eventually dropped out...I didn't admit it for a couple of weeks....

I guess I did misunderstand your statement on Creedmoor, But there was no mention of the 1800's in your post until this one I quoted, And that may have been why I got what I did from your post. My apologies

Whatever our personal taste for or against Weatherby, the company has managed to survive for many many years and, seemingly, actually thrive. The move to Wyoming from Commiefornia and the long term partnership with Howa has been profitable for all. My understanding is they bought a plastics company to make the stocks for their latest "budget" model the Obsidian.
I admit to owning two Weatherby MK V USA actions in the now defunct Super Varmint Master series. They have been extremely accurate and accounted for literally thousands of prairie dogs one the last 25 years. My late friend named them Death ray I and Death Ray II. DRI finally laid down and needed a new barrel but DRII is still asking when we are going to go dog busting again.

Well, it’s all relative, our top .1% affinity for the most accurate rifles obtainable puts us all in that category, amongst those whose help handles the guns, and who can buy and sell the zip codes we live in.

Mark V deluxe’s indeed can appeal to showy guys, but they are also technically speaking, the last gun any of us want to draw from a hat to go try to make in a machine shop.

I am so not white trash. In fact the two WEATHERBY MK V rifles I own have synthetic stocks from the factory and are chambered in 22-250.
Never owned one of those fancy big Magnum Weatherby's but I did for a short while own a Weatherby High Country (I think) in 257 WBY Mag. It was a fiberglass stock too and built with a Howa barreled action.

Creedmoor Sports was around before Dennis was part of the company.

I don't get that, but "ok".

Edit: To you, Cooper must be "white trash", too. I think I get it. White thash guy buy nice expensive rifle, wealthy guy buy cheap, junky rifle.

Show up the first time in Africa with a Weatherby and you'll get you the stink eye and an unsaid "Oh no" by the PH.
I heard that, too,.. in the Beginning Years ( Win Model 70's and Double Rifles,.. "Ruled" )
THEN, the P-H's saw how quickly, some of, the Bigger Cal's, Killed and the "Stigma",.. went away !
And they HAVE Smooth, Fast working, Low lift, Bolts !
Roy and his son, pretty much, Killed "Everything" quickly with, the .257 and .270 Weatherby's they used.
