Why buy Burris scopes? Here's one reason...

Read the above article. It explains my logic perfectly.

Someone else touched on Detroit a few posts ago, but you can blame unions for that mess. I do not know how such a socialist idea is still thriving in the country's heartland. What's even more amazing is the amount of people who want to elect a guy to push the entire country even further in that direction.

I don't know what Fisher has to do with anything. They are controlled by GM and have operations in Mexico, India and China, so I really don't understand how that helps your point at all.

I didn't know that Fisher had operations in Mexico etc...... but the point I was trying to make was that the downturn of the US auto industry also hurt affiliated businesses like Fisher body.... It put a lot of people out of work. The problem as I see it isn't only in the auto industry, that's just a big part of it. I just can't go along with buying foreign anything if I have an American made option. I feel that if I buy American made it will help our economy. I usually pay more for it but it's not always a lot more and I'm ok with paying more to help our economy. Believe me, I own a business and I understand profit margins etc, but I like to be loyal to the USA. All of my trucks have tires made here, my equipment gets tied down with chains and binders made here, etc. I just try to do my part. As for unions, I agree that they have a socialistic basis, but I also understand the importance of SOME unions. My dad was in the UMWA for 34 years. If there was only going to be one union, that would be the one union to keep, just for safety alone. He worked in union and non-union mines and the difference was day and night according to what he has told me. When things were life threatening, the union gave the workers a leg to stand on and refuse to work in unsafe conditions until they were made safe. The union set guidelines for roof support etc.... In the non union mine if they refused a situation, whether it be bad roof or bad air quality, they were told they could be replaced with someone that would work in that situation. My brother is a union iron worker, which is another dangerous job with safety concerns everywhere, so I understand that union too...... teachers unions, for example, not so much.
