why are there so many Nightforce scopes for sale?

What I have seen is many buy NF then realize for as good as they are they are not as good as they claim or they are ordered not how the users really wants the scope setup. NF is a good scope and they have an almost unusable webpage. So it is hard to know what you actually want. Their reticles should have the scale break down on them.

I think its probably a combination of things. Some shooters are selling to get newer options, like HSS,Zerostop,MIL/MIL,FFP,just to name a few.For some.an expensive scope may have strained the budget, and a high-end scope can help them pay a house or car payment or two.NF is not the only ones selling, theres lots of others. The post by 1983 is the first that I've heard of any failures with NF,thats not a problem around here. Pt

I had a NF fail in me. It was during a hunting trip. It was blowing snow and it brought water into my scope. The next morning I went out and my scope was foggy. I took off the sun shade to clean the lens and the frost was on the inside. I could still kind of see threw the scope but I did end up shooting the wrong deer. My brother was describing one deer and as my luck would have it a second deer was doing the exact same thing.

Sightron scopes the only thing they have going for it in my book is repeatability.

Our first one.
The parallax failed. We sent it in (was not as clear as my NF or Leupold MK4

Our second scope
This one was a 1/8 moa test scope they had accidently sent us. Did track very well.

Our third scope
Parallax and power adjustments failed.

Our fourth scope.
Parallax failed. I tried the set screw it was loose. Tightened it and sold the scope. Got a used NF.

Their customer service was outstanding. If NF customer service was half as good as sightrons customer service NF would really have something. The feeling I get from talking to NF is they feel they are better than everyone.

NF send returns.

First
My scope that leaked. I would think sealing the scope would be number two on the tests right after is there a scope to test.

Second
The scope did not have the full 100MOA up and down. They have a 3% margin of error. Out of the 5 NF scopes I have none of them are on the long side of the 3%. All of my five are less than a full MOA. The last 1/4moa never clicks into position on two of them and that is the closest I have gotten.

Third
Same thing as the second scope. Am I really the only person who tries to use the full scope?

I also get the impression that Nightforce thinks they can walk on water. Several friends had issues. One fell on his scope and bent the tube. Sent it back and they replaced the tube for 600.00. The optics are like looking through a fish tank after repairs. Second friend damaged the parallax because the battery cap was so tight he couldn't remove it. This scope also has optics that look like a fish bowl after the repairs. Good scopes just not a good warranty. If their warranty service was as good as Leupold then they would have something. IMHO ;D
