who wants a good 22 tactical scope?

I was speaking with my vortex rep yesterday and complaining about the fact that they dont make a scope any more for 22 tactical matches. The old crossfires like mine, which you cant find around any more, is 6-24x50, mil dot, good turrets, and focuses down to 10 yards. The only thing it doesnt have is a side parallax adjustment. Unfortunately, the new Crossfire II's dont have that much magnification nor do they come in a mil dot reticle.

I asked him what it would take to get a scope with the following features:

Magnification around 6-24X (like my crossfire)or even 5-20X
Side parallax
Mil dot reticle
Good repeatable turrets
Focus down to AT LEAST 25 yards (crossfires focus down to 10 yards).
Hopefully with at least 75 MOA of windage and elevation

This was his reply:
How big do you think the market would be for something like this- Do you think I could sell 300 qty a year-
Let me know your thoughts-

What do you guys think? Is there enough demand out there to warrant production of a scope like I'm looking for?
For those of you who arent aware, Vortex has a 100% lifetime guarantee on their scopes. If you break it, they replace it. No questions asked.

I love my crossfire scope and with the 100% lifetime guarantee you just cant beat them.
It sounds like if the market will bear 300+ sales per year its possible to get them to start making them again.

Let me know what you think and I'll forward the info to Vortex.

Thanks,
Rodney

It depends a lot on their price point. If they come out with something like this and charge 600+ then you can just as easily get one of many other scopes much cheaper. I am a huge fan of sightron scopes for rimfires as mine focuses all the way into 10 yards. Plus vortex doesn't exactly make the most light weight scopes out there and rimfires are not usually very heavy. I shoot a 513T out to 200 yards and it is far easier to just dial in. There are already scopes out there that can do this without having to come up with something new.

This would be a Crossfire II. So in the price range of 200-250.00 most likely. And its not about with coming up with something new. Its about adding it back in to their selection like it used to be.
And Vortex aslo has their 100% lifetime no questions asked replacement warranty. You break it, they replace it. No questions asked. I LOVE my crossfire 6-24x50 mil dot scope and i'll take a few more onces for the security of their warranty.

Just a quick check and I dont see any Sightrons in the 6-24 power range even close to 200-300. Thats what this thread is about.
If sightron makes a 6-24x mil dot scope that focuses down to 25yards or less in that price range I would be interested

I would think they would have at least the same demand for this hypothetical scope as they do for some of their current models, if not more.???

I have been looking for what you describe. I would buy one.

BSA platinum series scope has a 6-24 and 8-32 scope that goes down to 50feet and can get from Natchez for around 100.00 if you watch the sales add for them

If it had hash marks (subtending .06-.1 @100 yds) instead of mildot I'd look at it.

Never ever buy a BSA. They are junk! I have one and it sits in my closet. It wont hold zero. Anybody who wants it can have it for free! U pay for shipping. Its a sweet .223 6-18x40. Im thinking about shooting it and seeing if I can put a bullet all the way through it. Kinda like what you see in the old military sniper movies and the bullet goes through the enemy snipers eye.

Please update this once you have enough replies as I would gladly place a preorder. I have been swapping my sightron off and on to my 22lr long range rig as it is the only scope I have with enough power to see what I want at 200 and the elevation to get me there.

I ordered this one for my Savage, 4.5-14 X 40, it should be here Monday. They also make a 8.5-25 X 44.

Here's what I have on mine. Works great but with the steal tube it's heavy, not a problem for me as my varmint .22 is heavy as well..

It has just about everything you wanted.
