I have only tried multiple brands in 6.5 and 6.0 LRP, not 308, but i did measure samples of each for weight and neck thickness variance.
alpha is better than starline (by a little), starline is better than hornady and winchester (by a lot) in terms of neck variance and weight both.
using similar velocity loads in all 3 (which required lower charge in starline and alpha) i have only seen 8-10 firings on all 4 brands before primers started getting loose at fast enough rate it was an issue.
the consistency of alpha is nice but at $1 each i had really hoped to get more firings vs brass that is 1/2 the price.
i’m going to try lapua SRP on next puchase and hope it holds up better which would make it “cheaper” in the long run vs alpha. alpha SRP might hold up longer too but i haven’t tried it cause it’s never been in stock when i needed to order.
