Who Makes Pre-Fit barrels for Savage?

Re: pre fit bbls. for savage

Criterion, sold through Jim Briggs. I Can't say enough good about them.

A friend that I shoot with bought one (a Shilen) from the "Barrel Man". It was cheaper than anyone else by quite a bit. He recently shot a three inch group with it at 1005 yds and it is one hole boring at 100 yds. He is using 30.5 gr of Varget and 87 VMax @ 2888 fps. It is an eight twist.

Off the top of my head in no particular order:

Shilen
Mcgowen
criterion ( krieger buttoned barrels- call Jim Briggs)
pac-nor
lothar walther
Brux (by sharp shooter supply)
Douglas (by sss)
Rock Creek

I'm sure i've missed a couple too...
I have had great luck with a lothar walther 6br and a shilen 243 and 308. My brother has a criterion 260 that is awesome and another friend has a criterion 6.5-284 that is also excellent. I have a douglas in 22br that I bought used, not sure on the round count when I got it, but it is still a good varmint barrel (~1/2 moa maybe not quite).

shaw barrels are pretty damn good, had a few that were hummers...this isnt a savage but still the same maker
