Who makes .172" custom dies?

If you have free fire cases, you can send them to Harrel Precision and they will make you a custom die for that caliber you may want to call first too check and make sure they do the 17hmr (540) 380-2683 good luck

They only do 6 mm.

You might try Lee. Bowfisher on this sight had a thread or two on saubier about having Lee make dies for his 17 vha improved.
I have the parts gathered up to put Rem 700 together in the 17vha , I need to get it to my gunsmith.

I saw the below on Whidden's website.

"We have currently suspended the acceptance of new custom die orders. All orders currently in process will be fulfilled as promised.We have currently suspended the acceptance of new custom die orders. All orders currently in process will be fulfilled as promised."

The above is currently on his website. Don't know if this means permanently or temporarily. Hope he continues to build custom wildcat dies. I've had really good luck with his dies. Businesses that still do it are getting few and far between. BUMMER!

If I want to build a new wildcat of some type nowadays...I make sure I have dies located first!

Basically guys this brings it down to just 1 or 2 manufacturers and they are booked with orders.

From a MANUFACTURING standpoint (and realize this is my take on the situation), they COULD make what you are needing but they don't already have the tooling in place to do so and make a profit. Thus they state that they don't have the tooling IN PLACE to make what you need. I am guessing that this cartridge isn't popular enough for them to purchase or make the tooling and make money off of producing dies for it.

Well CH4D made the dies. They have 5 extra if anyone is interested in a .172" with lots of case life capable of duplicating everything from .17HM2 TO .17Hndy Hornet. I got 30 plus firings from one case before it showed a split neck.
