Who is great gunsmith for an old pistol

my co worker has an old Smith Wesson 38 that he inherited and he wants to see if it can be restored.

Who is a person to send to? All I know are guys who work on bolt action rifles

The original owner had sent off to be fixed and they sent it back with a few spare parts but didn’t fix it

I have pictures if anyone wants to see. Message me your email

If you want to restore it, send it to Smith & Wesson. A full restoration is not inexpensive. Hamilton Bowen can offer a great deal of information. Talk to him.

Whatever happened to Cake-Davis (spelled right ?) in Sacramento, Calif? They used to do a lot of PPC revolvers. In the early 1980's they did some work on a very early .44 Magnum Pre-Model 29 that I have. Very nice work at a reasonable price.
