Who does AR 15 trigger work?

I got an ar 15 with hard trigger pull and a long creep before it fires. I hate it tried to do one a few years ago myself help but I'm not much good at it. A few years ago I think there was a smith or AR trigger expert in Colorado not sure I think he charged $35 polished it and shorten the travel of the trigger for you and sent it back to you. Claimed he did a lot of work on AR triggers for police guns and had a high success rate of fixing them. Any one know who that was or anyone that does them at a far price.???

You need some 1/4 28 set screws. One 1/4 inch long. You will need a 1/2 inch shcs.

Run a 1/4 28 tap up the pistol grip hole . All the way through

Run the short set screw in until it hits the back of the trigger.

Cock the trigger

Run the set screw I until it goes off

Back the screw off a half turn.

Try it again.

You're welcome.

Put the pistol grip back on with the shorter shcs.

If you are capable of removing the existing trigger group and installing a replacement (YouTube is your Friend), I suggest you look at options provided below.
I have installed Velocity (3 lb) triggers in some of my rifles, and love them; company Owner used to work for Timney. Their standard triggers are great, and the MPC variant is perfect for my Spider Monkey digits.
Like you, I had a “Standard” trigger in an Anderson Arms lower that weighed in at 7+ lbs. Popped out the old parts and installed an ALG as listed in the first link. Remarkable improvement at just a hair under 4.5 lbs and super smooth. By the time you ship your trigger out, pay for modification and return shipping, you could be ahead by just ordering this one.

I've got one of those ALG triggers. Huge improvement over stock for very little money. Another one along those lines is the Rock River 2 stage trigger.

By the time you order the parts and try to do it your self, you'll be
glad you just ordered a full drop in trigger.
Plenty of good ones out there now.
Some gunsmiths don't want to go too low on trigger pull, reliability issues.

A member here (thank you) sent me this link to try for --cheap, 26 bucks. Dropped my pull from 8 lbs down to 3 lbs with a little creep. I love it -- even the creep. jd

That‘s as reasonable as it gets, sounds like a good compromise for something in between a crappy factory trigger and a expensive competition drop in.

The reduced power hammer spring doesn't sound great. My understanding is you don't want to reduce the energy in the hammer.

I put a Jard trigger in mine , way better now

I understand this worry, but it turns out to not be a worry. I've shot at least a few hundred with the new trigger, and no prob. If there was, I'd just stick the old spring in and see what resulting pull is.

AR triggers are like 10/22 triggers and I like to fiddle with them just to see what I can do. Especially in the winter when its 20 below when the wind is howling. The best I can do using my favorite 40 dollar parts kit is about 3 lbs on the button measured with just a hint of creep if your shooting from the bench. Shooting critters you can't really feel it. Last summer about this time Brownells had a sale on Trigger Tech Diamonds single stage 1 1/2 pound for 150 bucks. My cousin actually got the sale email so he drove over and got one Of course he had to stop and show me what he got I'm glad he did because I snagged 2 of them. One of the local gun stores used to have a board with lowers set up with 6-8 triggers to try. The Trigger techs were the best of the bunch but also the most money. I'm glad he spotted that sale. On the 10/22s my favorite is the Kidd trigger job kit in a poly housing. They will go under a lb reliably with absolutely no creep. I'm not a fan of two stage.

Bill Springfield to answer the question you asked. He does the rifles for the Air Force Academy.

My first custom AR build has a Bill Springfield trigger on it. It's very crisp with no noticeable creep. Since then I have three more custom builds, all with drop ins. One of them is a Velocity, the other two I don't remember off the top of my head. The Bill Springfield job is as good as any of them.
