Computers and shooters ready while a South Florida "white" Christmas holds things up. In spite of the fog with temperatures in the 70's - 80's, it turned out to be a hot shoot for December 23rd.

Finally we can actually see the 600 yard targets call the line to action.

First interesting group in Light Gun Class was this "horsefly" by Pennsylvania visitor Jerry Ware. Small group of 4 but like a horsefly, #5 came out to bite.

Later there was no "bite" for Alex Linn in Heavy Gun as he shot this real .461" group. F Class stock on a Remington 700 did him proud.

Some perfect 50's were shot and when all the IBS awards were calculated and presented, there were three winners for four awards. Organizer Steve Krauss did a double, winning LG score and HG group aggregate.

Steve got in on the other two award pictures presenting Jerry Ware his LG aggregate award.

Thats an amazing group. Second match ever and damn near a new world record! I cant say Im surprised. How many shooters came out? Keep up the good work, thanks for the write up. I was supposed to go tune my coyote rifle today but we never got out of the single digits I couldnt force myself to do it lol.

It was in the low 70 early-on during the fog. Got into the 80's with darn near great conditions at times. Manatee mirage was only around for a short while. You can keep that below freezing stuff. I do not like living in a freezer.

In Light Gun today Alex missed winning score aggregate by 1 point. He most always finishes near the top at every shoot.

This is the equipment he always uses. Gotta be some shooting talent there. Heck, I put together a Caldwell rest just last night as I switched my Sinclair over to 4" for the new BRA I will start testing. Used an old short range benchrest stock with a glued Panda. I had loaned out my other Dasher and the only thing I had to shoot was my gong rifle. One group was a .8" of four all in the X but had one out in the 9. Shot a 50 and other decent groups and scores.

Really think that attention to shooting fundamentals is important. Top equipment does not make up for fundamental shooting mistakes.

The 1/2" of contact rule and ones like it, are what keeps the lower cost rest/bag setups competitive.
Myself have 2 complete setups (1 for LT & 1 for HV) that in total have far less then $1000 into.

Thanks for the pictures Larry. Great shooting Alex, Steve, and Jerry. Larry you also had a pretty good day with your shooting. With the list I have from light gun results, we had 24 shooters. I am going to keep plugging along with that Dasher to try, and prove that the 6 BRA is not going to win everything. Doug

I used my old gong Dasher with the non-tracking stock. Trouble with the Caldwell at the start of LG. Then I figured out how to get a repeatable feel and return.

Inhale, exhale, squeeze, surprise, follow-through and then repeat. Fundamentals. Read and hold for the wind and mirage. Simple???

Next month I will probably have the BRA ready. so much for my advice.

Has anyone got a spread sheet of results. It was very un typical to have shot almost 3 targets with minimal wind and light mirage, was a true test of shooter and quality of equipment,
