Which Trigger For Panda F-Class Action?

Hi,

It's my first build (from scratch) and I'm not sure what triggers fit the action I purchased. I just purchased a new Panda F-Class Action (308 bolt face) to use with a GRS X-Eater stock I purchased this morning from a member on this forum. I currently use a Timney Calvin Elite trigger set at approximately 7 ounces or less pull weight on my Remington 700 action to shoot midrange FTR.

Anyone know what triggers fit the Panda F-Class action that would allow me to set the trigger pull in the 7 ounce pull weight range, as I'm used to?

Adrian

Jewell or Bix 'n Andy. I have both. Jewell has been the standard for a long time now. The BnA can be reliably set lighter than the Jewell and seems more consistent, but we're counting fairy wings when it comes to F class, both are fantastic.

In my latest re-barrel I did figure out that the BnA is an about an oz lighter than a Jewell... I may not have actually needed it, but it makes me feel a little better.

Thanks for the info XTR. Any suggestion on the best place to purchase the Bix'n Andy trigger?

Thanks Bob. Any suggestions on how to identify which triggers fit the Panda? I see lots of triggers, but none that clearly indicate they're for the Panda F-Class. I'll certainly call and chat with someone over at Bullet Central tomorrow, but I'm just trying to get a head start and do my homework online.

ROGER Guyer alias dedeadeye on here. He advertises in the classified ads.

The Jewell is a great trigger. The BiX N Andy is better. It pulls more consistent from shot to shot, will not slam fire, breaks cleaner and will not break like a Jewell if you blank a primer. MATT

There's no 'Panda' designation for a trigger. It takes pretty much any Rem. 700 style trigger and uses a trigger hangar. Just get a Panda hangar for the B&A or be prepared to do some slight modification to your existing Panda hangar (I had to mill mine out slightly for clearance as the B&A trigger was a tight fit).

So just to confirm, for my Kelbly Panda F-Class action, if I purchase an adjustable trigger hanger, like this one:

https://bulletcentral.com/product/bullet-central-adjustable-kelbly-panda-trigger-hangar/

Then I'll be able to adjust the timing of the trigger and use any Remington 700 trigger, such as this Jewell BR trigger:

https://bulletcentral.com/product/br-jewell-trigger-700/)

or this Bix'N Andy trigger:

https://bulletcentral.com/product/b...mpetition-trigger-no-safety-with-sear-insert/

Does that sound right?

I'm thinking about f class and just read a thread on the above mentioned trigger. I checked the only place I could find that stocked them and they are out of stock. How hard are they to get?
Save your money. I bought a Flavio and I'm not all that impressed with it. There is still more upward force on the cocking piece than the B&A has. The Flavio is better than a Jewell, no question, but IMO it's no B&A. In factual numbers the upward pressure of the top sear on a B&A trigger is 11 ounces (300 grams). On the Flavio, it is 53 ounces (1500 grams) big difference. If you don't believe my numbers, talk to Chris Harris at Bullet Central. He will back up what I'm saying.

Yes.

I have the exact same setup, b&a trigger, benchrite.com is the best customer service for trigger. Adjustable hanger is recommended.

This forum is an amazing resource - I would've had to make several phone calls to dealers to get this info, but you all came through and cleared things up for me. Thanks everyone!

Hi Jim,

Can you expand on what you didn't like about the Flavio trigger? Also, why does the higher upward force on the cocking piece make a difference? Just curious because some of the best rimfire shooters in the country are using the Flavio triggers and I'm sure they wouldn't use them if they thought the B&A was better. Thanks.
