which stock

I just bought a pac nor super match barrel it is the #4 sporter size. I was wondering if i should get a sporter stock or a varmint stock for this barrel, i was told i would have to alter the sporter stock and that the varmint stock may have to large of a barrel channel, any suggestions would be great thanks

Not enough details. What's the gun for? Hunting, carrying, varmints, prairie dogs, big game, bench? A number four is close to a Remington magnum contour, which fits most sporter stocks with a little opening up. I've got several #5's in McMillan's Classic stocks, and the fit is fine.

Use a varmint style stock and you'll have it free floated already with no problems..
