I have looked through alot of scopes side by side in real dark conditions and I have to disagree with this statement. Some are just way better then others. I did the same thing with Binoculars and there were also big differences. In Binoculars, I sat the Swarovski, Leica and Zeiss side by side and the Swarovski won easily in brightness and detail or depth. They were all 10x50. MattMy eye doctor hunting buddy says the Sightron SIIIs, for the money, are hard to beat and most over the age of 50 won't see much of a difference in a scope costing a couple thousand more. His surgery microscope is a Zeiss.
