which scope??

My eye doctor hunting buddy says the Sightron SIIIs, for the money, are hard to beat and most over the age of 50 won't see much of a difference in a scope costing a couple thousand more. His surgery microscope is a Zeiss.

I have looked through alot of scopes side by side in real dark conditions and I have to disagree with this statement. Some are just way better then others. I did the same thing with Binoculars and there were also big differences. In Binoculars, I sat the Swarovski, Leica and Zeiss side by side and the Swarovski won easily in brightness and detail or depth. They were all 10x50. Matt

Matt, You have A LOT of time behind all kinds of scopes and I'm sure you can see the difference. That's why I said "most" older eyeballs can't tell the difference, at least under most shooting conditions. I agree as others have posted money buys you low light and mechanicals.
