which savage target action for 6.5x284

I was looking at the savage f class rifles and noticed they offer it in 6mm r and 6.5x284. I wanted to buy just the action for a 6.5x55 build but can't find one in long action. Am i missing something, or am I mistaken about a 6.5x284 being long action?

If its a single shot you dont need a longer action than a 6.5x284 has

I realize that but when the target actions are all listed the same just with different bolt faces one with 223 bf the other with 308 bf. Doesn't list a long action version

Same here, but my Sav PTA is from a Sav 12 LRPV in 22-250. IIRC, you can single load the 6.5x284 round easily and the fired brass ejects fine, but if you have to eject an unfired round, you are best served to remove the bolt to get it out easily.

Single shot actions like the STA and the old 40X don't need a long action length. Longer cartridges can be loaded and fired in these shorter actions. You'll be find with the STA for what you are trying to do.
