Easy button. BAT Machine 17-4 stainless steel. Great machining .Great people to deal with.
Only custom action I own. I will buy anotherZermatt TL3 and Origins are controlled round feed also.
They unfortunately aren't making them any longer.American file company mausingfield action. Controlled round feed and plenty of thought into the design.
Really? What's left then, the CDG?They unfortunately aren't making them any longer.
Yeah that is unfortunate but someone what expected. After your glowing review I did a lot of reading on them. Availability and parts over here swayed me to the kelbly Prometheus. They unfortunately aren't making them any longer.
They still make all of the parts and plan on supporting it. I don’t think it’s dead forever, but they did want to focus on the CDG.Yeah that is unfortunate but someone what expected. I'd like to see them build a model 7 length action.Agreed.
Although I'm still trying to figure what they don't have covered.
Question simply because I've not heard the term before: what does "controlled round feed" mean/entail? Are there are particular use cases where it would be a requirement/deciding factor when picking an action?Zermatt TL3 and Origins are controlled round feed also.
Supposedly it is what you want if your life depended on it when hunting dangerous game.Question simply because I've not heard the term before: what does "controlled round feed" mean/entail? Are there are particular use cases where it would be a requirement/deciding factor when picking an action?

Thank you, that's a very helpful description! It’s the way the round is picked up from the magazine. A CRF the round rim comes up under the extractor as it’s being pushed forward. In a push feed the round is just pushed from the magazine into the chamber. You can single load a push feed but some CRF do not allow it. The Zermatt TL3 and Origin are CRF but designed you can single load also.
They also do not pull to the right with the round in them like was mentioned earlier. That can happen with other CRF models but not the Zermatt.
