Which Rifle Action.

Between myself and my shooting partner we have, - kelbly atlas,
- kelbly Prometheus,
- stiller tac 30,
- surgeon 591,
- aero Solus,
- ultimatum deadline gen 2,
- impact 737r,
- lone peak fuzion,
- defiances deviant,
- terminus Zeus,
- ks sa3r,
- bighorn tl3.

One thing I can tell you for sure, they all shoot excellent, no feeding issues with any of them. Some are hunters others are prs rigs, all get used hard. Buy whichever one you want cause trying to save a buck on something you didn’t really want you’ll always regret it. If that happens to be an origin, so be it. If that happens to be a Bat well then get one. Some have a few features I like better, some are smoother then the other, some are 90 and some are 60, 1’s 75 none hold me back. I have a slight personal preference but it’s not something that makes a difference on target.

Next in lines are falkor, and bat I think.

I have a Borden mountaineer (push feed) action . Bedded in a MPA Matrix Pro Chassis. 308 bolt face that will also feed and eject 6ppc. Which is mainly what I shoot now a days. No complaints.

Never seen a control round feed on a bench rest gun. That big claw extractor pulls the bullet to the right off the chamber. Look up match results and equipment used if you want a bench gun. I have 2 pandas on prairie dog guns that I love. Rblpre is really nice. That being said, I love my terminus just as well, and it's a repeater. All depends on what your gonna do with it

Yeah that is unfortunate but someone what expected. After your glowing review I did a lot of reading on them. Availability and parts over here swayed me to the kelbly Prometheus.
They still make all of the parts and plan on supporting it. I don’t think it’s dead forever, but they did want to focus on the CDG.

Zermatt TL3 and Origins are controlled round feed also.
Question simply because I've not heard the term before: what does "controlled round feed" mean/entail? Are there are particular use cases where it would be a requirement/deciding factor when picking an action?

Supposedly it is what you want if your life depended on it when hunting dangerous game.

It’s the way the round is picked up from the magazine. A CRF the round rim comes up under the extractor as it’s being pushed forward. In a push feed the round is just pushed from the magazine into the chamber. You can single load a push feed but some CRF do not allow it. The Zermatt TL3 and Origin are CRF but designed you can single load also.

They also do not pull to the right with the round in them like was mentioned earlier. That can happen with other CRF models but not the Zermatt.

Thank you, that's a very helpful description!

CRF, IMHO, is what you want when your life may depend on it.
That's me, because I am more of a hunter than a target shooter. I looked at Elephants from a distance measured in feet instead of yards in Africa. I have another failing, I prefer finely figured Walnut to synthetic...
