Which recticle?

I just finished my 6BR build. Planning on putting a NXS 12-42x scope on it for both paper and varmint shooting. I'm thinking about either the NP-R1 or NP-R2. Maximum range will be 600 yards.

What are your suggestions on best recticle?

Thanks

I would suggest that you peek through one with the NP2-DD reticule if you can..
I have had about all of them and settled on the NP2DD..
Not a lot of clutter to confuse, and that bottom dot for 500 yards is a plus to me....
All I do with them is varmints....

Thanks for the suggestion. I had thought that the NP-2DD was more of a benchrest competition recticle. Do you count come-ups to get on target with this recticle if the range is between or beyond the 2 dots?

Lots of varmint hunters use the NP2-DD and they, as I, click up for the distances involved... I even use the NP2-DD in 5.5x22x50 on my deer rifles, and never a problem other than the deer don't like it much :D

For Varmint hunting, I would strongly suggest a Horus reticle.

If you ever try one and the software that supports it in the field, you will be sold. http://www.horusvision.com/

I know it looks very busy at first, but try the demo on theor sight before you discount it. I believe some of our military snipers are using it on the sand peolpe and love the system.

Nightforce @ the Shot show said that they might be putting the Horus recticle in the NF scopes
