Which Primer fro 6BR?

New to reloading for the 6BR. Experianced reloader.
Lawton barrel and action
Mostly 200 and 300 yd.
I have Berger bullets mostly lighter wieghts, Varget, and h380. A little V135, I think.
I would like to try each primer and see what works best, but given the shortage, probably not an option.
Thoughts as to:
CCI?
Tulas?
Federal?
Remington?
At the ranges I poropose to shoot, will I see a difference between BR and regular small rifle?
Thanks for your thoughts.

I started with CCI BR4s and they grouped so well (sling shooter), I didn't look any further.

My 6BR likes Wolf SRM primers best.
Most will work well when the load is adjusted to the primer.

They say Tula is the new name for the Wolf primers.

I'm getting fed up with the price increases ( $50 +) for the BR4's, what I've always used with the 30 grs. of Varget, and have begun using 450's. Can't tell a bit of difference. Not in group size on the paper, (out to 500 meters), or the SD and ES numbers across the chronograph. 450's are selling for around $30 per 1K.

Yup... when I finish up with the 7K of BR-4's, I am going to switch over to CCI 450's.

BR-4s are going for 6 cents a piece around here - and if you order on line you ave hazmat fees to deal with.

Federals, Rem 7 1/2, and believe it or not.... Winchester small rifle primers. Each seems to have its niche in my rifle. Several times I've had what I thought was a "good" load, then changed primers and made it an excellent load in the 6br. JME. ;) WD

I was wondering whether you have a 6BR Remington chamber - or a 6BR Norma chamber. If you have the latter, I'd personally not use a bullet lighter than the 80 Berger, and the 105 even better.

For ignition, try what you have first. My 6BR barrels mostly favor the Federal Match, yet the CCI Br produces my most accurate load in combination with the 105 Scenar L bullet. The Wolfs and Tula's work well (I'd use the magnum version). You will see a lot of folks put the Russian primers down as junk - yet most problems come from their need for good, hard firing pin contact and pressure. If you have excessive cartridge headspace and leveled the primer pocket bottoms a bit much, you will have inconsistent ignition. Barring that problem which can be avoided - they are cheap AND excellent primers! I also know guys who use the Military CCI and CCI 450 magnum primers with good results. Try what you have over the chrono and find what kind of E.S.'s you can get on a load that seems promising.

I've been very happy using CCI 450 primers in my 6BR Norma loads. I have a nice load worked up with 80 grain Bergers with N-135 and 107 grain SMK with H4895.
