Which powder for 6mm Rem

I am about to get a 6mm Rem, 26" 10 twist barrel and was wondering what everybody's favorite powders are for that caliber. I have bullets from 66 grains to 105 grains for my other 24 caliber rifles. Velocity is nice but I prefer accuracy first. This is a hunting rifle and my favorite bullets in my 243AI are 85 grain Speer with H414 and 105 gr with H4350. I am hoping to be able to shoot the 90 grain Etip in this rifle or the 85 grain Barnes TSX. I have tried lots of powders in my arsenal of rifles and it seems like H4350 seems to give very good groups in so many that I am hoping it works in this rifle so I can buy an 8 pound keg. Thanks, Tom

Greetings,
I am running 43.0gr H4350 with the 90gr Bergers in both .243 and 6mm Rem. Approx 3050 fps and both shoot great out to 800 yds (farthest distance shot on paper). Both are 1-10 twist.
Good luck,
John

I have a 6MM Remington with a 12 twist barrel and I've always used IMR4350 with 70 grain Ballistic Tips until Nosler started gouging us on pricing. I switched to Hornady 65 grain V-Max and lately I have used ReL 17 with great results and more velocity. 6MM Remington is a great round, I use it exclusively for big chucks here in WV beyond 300 yards, plently of DRT power.
Gook luck.

Sounds like H4350 might be promising. I have shot Re 17 with good results in several calibers but it has always resulted in ever so slightly bigger groups. Tom

here's a pic of my best load using the 75 gr Sierra HP bullets and some other results using same bullets with different recipes. IMR4895 worked the best for me using that particular bullet. RL-17 gave good speeds, but not quite as good accuracy, but that doesn't mean your rifle won't like it.

Notice I have a bunch of rounds fired into the center of the make-shift target? Bad thing about factory barrels is that they gotta be fouled pretty good before they settle into good accuracy.

Groups shot from a 100% ALL factory Ruger M77 tang safety 6mm Remington with the varmint contour 24" barrel. Got a Bushnell 4200 6-24 scope on her. First Bushnell and really like it so far. Not too bad for a 34 year old rifle that still shoots the lights out :)

I have had best results with RL19 and IMR4350 running a close second. I've used RL17, but found it to not have the accuracy I was looking for. Been meaning to try H4350, but haven't gotten around to it yet. This is with a Cooper M22, 26", 10 twist.

shooting a 12 twst 6AI w/ 80 grn Bergers. RL-19 gave me best accy. & velocity. Compared to IMR-4350 & IMR-4895. I too settled on CCI-200's. Consistent bug holes up to about 95* F. The RL-19 is LESS temp stable than the other two powders for me. Did developement in temps from 75*F to about 89*F. Ironicly, The best loads in my gun could have been replicated w/ standard 6rem. case capacity. Remains to be seen how well it may have shot in a 6rem. case/chamber. Have fun, it's a great cartridge in either form. Forgot to mention this is Shilen match select BBL.
