Best powder for 6x47 Lapua

I have a 10 twist 6x47 that I use for hunting varmints, antelope and deer and have tried H4350, Re17, and H414 with bullets from 85 grains to 105 grains. I know Vitavouri N550 and 560 work great but they are not available at this time. H414 with 85 grain bullets is really showing some promise and H4350 seems to be more accurate then Re17, although 40.0 grains of Re17 with the 105 grain Speer gave me some excellent groups at the extreme upper load window. Are there any other powders that I should try? I have some WC852 slow lot that I thought I might play with the 105 grain bullets. Accuracy is foremost and velocity the second consideration. Thanks for any help. Tom

H4350 and RL17 work the best in mine but you can try some RL15 if you can find some. Start at 34 grains though. A good friend uses RL15 and Berger 108's with very good results.

I found that I like IMR 4350 and a berger 108bt with my 8 twist. With a 10 twist you may want to try BIB 108 flat backs and 4007 powder. I have not tried it but talking to Randy Robinet he says he has seen impressive things with this set up.

We shoot 9 twist with 95gr Bergers using 40 gr of Norma 204. Very good groups at 500 (1.25 - 1.5) with consistant velocities, and es around 3-5 fps.

Sadly, it would seem that Speers have discontinued offering their 105 gr (Hot-Cor) tips.

Being flat based they work well in slower twist barrel, were as the longer 105's Bergers, or similar tips, require a tighter twist to cope with the extra bullet length.

After I saw a post here a few weeks ago about the 105 grain Speer's being discontinued, I bought 400 more of them so I have a lifetime supply for hunting antelope and deer. Thanks guys for all of your help. I am just about settled in on my hunting loads so now it is time to buy some target bullets to see how good this thing really shines. I have a single box of 95 Bergers and will see if they stabilize in the 10 twist or not. It seems like H4350 is a consistent powder and it has performed best for me. Thanks to RJ I now have a starting point for trying some 3031 with the 85 grain bullets. This gun is sure more fun to shoot then my 22-100 short ppc that is driving me mad! Take care. Tom

r19 and 4831sc are too slow...can't get max pressure with a case full. R17 and h4350 will most likely give the best results and would be the first 2 i try.
