Which Harris Bipod?

Hi, I'd like to get a Harris bipod, mostly for shooting prone in the field and sometimes from a bench. I'm not sure if I should order the 6"-9" or 9"-13". Which height would be better for my purpose? Any experiences?

I also have 2 of the 25s bipods and use them for shooting PRONE and have for years. Tried the others and they are to low. Use a block and a tape measure and see what is more comfortable to you before buying. The 25 S I use colapsed for prone and extanded either part or all the way for sitting, depending on terrain. Shooting 5-600 rounds a trip off the bipod.

I was thinking the 6-9 in. would be right too. But, I guess an individual's body thickness would have something to do with the height of one's head while laying prone. What do I know? I've never shot prone position. Just guessing. Bill

6"-9" is the way to go, at least for me. Get a leg notch swivel head model. Put a KMW Pod-Loc on the swivel adjustment and a Tanks Rifle Shop speed knob on in place of the Harris attachment screw and you're good to go.

Hey guys thanks for the quick responses, I appreciate your input. I measured the height laying prone and it seemed 8 inches was about the right height, so I'm going with the 6-9" swivel w/notched legs. Thanks a bunch.

The biggest problem I have with Bi's in the field is: I seem to never have the right one on. If I am on a down hill slope shooting out on a flat I need the tall one and vice versa.

I usually try 4-5 fields once or twice a week June thru Sept for woodchucks and each place has its needs.

All that said, the tall one is on the rifle the most. Short one is for table top shooting.

I have the 25c that goes to 27" and it is to high for prone. I have used it prone a few times but I dont like the fact that I have to raise my body way off the ground to get level, i lose alot of stability having to raise up. Id bee looking at the 9-13. Midway has them on sale. I need one and am going to get a leg notch swivel 9-13 harris, then an extra shooters ridge swivel that goes to 29" for coyote hunting.
