Looking for a Bipod

I just got my new savage target rifle up and running but its in need of a bipod...

I plan on getting a Harris but i dont know which one i really should be looking at. I will be shooting off the bench the most then from a prone possition but i would also really like to be able to get just enough height out of it to use it in a sitting possition. Any rocomendations? Ive never owned one and dont know how many options i really have.

Also i am just looking for one that i can mount to my swivel stud on my stock.

Unless you can fold yourself in half like a Romanian gymnast, you're not going to be able to use a bipod for bench, prone, and sitting position.

Get the Harris BRM-S, which means benchrest (6-9" height adjustment) with leg notches and swivel feature. Deal with sitting position with another bipod, or with a sling like they do in Highpower competition. :)

Nate's right. Forget Bipod when sitting.

If you're shooting in areas with real tall grass or lots of rocks, or you use a high rear sandbag, you may prefer the medium swivel Harris. I have both BR and Medium and use both, with a slight edge to the BR version. Get a POD-lock for the swivel, or make your own from parts. It's not hard.

darn, gymnastic classes are expensive, expecially the Romanian classes...

Oh well i did some looking around and figured the same thing, thanks for the help.

Pretty much considered to be the best by the tactical crowd.

I've been lucky enough to do pretty well at a few tactical matches, with just a Harris bipod and a cloth bag filled with rice. But I'm also known for good karma. ;)

You can only decide for yourself if the Atlas is that many $$$$ better than the Harris.
For me, I just go with the recommended Harris BRMS leg notch with a Pod Loc. Triad Tactical has them in stock at a decent price.
