If you want max speed with accuracy, don’t think any of the above outrun the 257stw.
could a bullet even hold up to the speed of a 25/300Rem. Ultra Mag?
Sierra uses the 250 Ackley as their 25 caliber test mule because it’s the most accurate and easy to work with 25 cal. Cartridge they have found. You WILL like it.
y personal 250 Ackley was the 'test mule' for R.G. Robinett's .25 cal. 88's. As you can see, they are killer good bullets!
I sure like that rig.
who was the gunsmith?
Not before it's Ackley Improved. Far too much body taper. You realize the 250 Savage is the 25 Creed!
Curiously, the Hodgdon No. 26 manual (1992) has 25-284 data, saying "It is likely more custom rifles have been built in .25-284 than factory or custom rifles in .284 Winchester. ... Of the several wildcats spawned by the .284 Winchester, all except the 6mm, .25 and .338 versions have quietly faded away." How things change! The year Remington brought out the Classic in 250 Savage, I bought one. I had it rechambered to 25-284 over that winter.
If you ever stumble on another 700 Classic in 250 Savage, set it aside for me, I'm good for it. But I would never rechamber it.
How would the 250ai compare to the 257ai side by side?
