I see all the good 6 power fixed fine cross hair scopes that are needed for hunter benchrest are not being made anymore I don't want to get a used scope or is this what everyone else is doing

I think the rules committee should look at changing the 6x rule, lock the records where they are, and rename the class. None of the good scope manufacturers will support it so its slowly dying off (has been for a long time)
Youre already handicapped with the forend and caliber choice you could maybe say 18x and tape variables. Thatll open the floodgates of scopes. Maybe even go to 36xInteresting. What do you propose they change in the rule, open it up to use any power scope?
Im guessing youve never shot hbr? You cant put a good ole 3x9 on 6x and expect to do well on a hbr target. The crosshairs will cover the 9 ring and the parallax will put you in the 7Ok so I will take the bait"puts on fire resistant garments and tin foil hat" . Exactly which brands are in this mystical unicorn realm "I see all the good 6 power fixed fine cross hair scopes that are needed for hunter benchrest are not being made anymore " ???? Thankfully a lot of stuff isn ot being made like it used to be made and that is a good thing as often as it is a bad thing! LOL
You do realize that at 6X with rather large objectives and 30mm tubes it does not take exceptional glass to be up to the job for shooting at paper under anything other than moonlight. In terms of tracking mechanical I would love to hear your take on the current crop of optics manufactures.

The burris that made the hbr scopes is. Last time i heard of a guy sending one in for a simple fix and maintenance they sent him some kind of tactical scope in return for the warranty@Dusty Stevens
Burris is defunct?
Your’e not thinking Weaver, are you?The burris that made the hbr scopes is. Last time i heard of a guy sending one in for a simple fix and maintenance they sent him some kind of tactical scope in return for the warranty
Dusty. Up here in New England we have the largest contingent of 6 power competitors. Now there are quite a few people from MD and below that have or are building new 6x rifles. From SC Todd Payseur (WillyTP), Jim Cline, Mike Clayton, Anthony Isner, have at least one. Ronnie Milford from GA has one. From MD Dewey Hancock has one, John Bosley and Jim Hooper are having one each built by Ronnie Long. I'm sure more of the southern guy's will eventually jump on the bandwagon. I'll tell you one thing about them southern guy's they are real go getters. There are some people, ( 2 Mainers in particular) that are complaining about the southern shooters having a big advantage for the SSOY points in VFS. Well nobody does a thing up here to try to recruit new shooters or find new ranges to shoot at. Jim Cline and Ronnie Milford are the driving force down south. They have recruited a number of new shooters, added a number of new ranges , and added a number of new shoots to the IBS schedule. They average 38 shooters per match compared to 18 up here. We couldn't get 38 shooters up here if they had free beer and hookers. Hats off to Cline and Milford for their continuing hard work.I think the rules committee should look at changing the 6x rule, lock the records where they are, and rename the class.
