Where is the revolver section

Elephants and rhinos are far from endangered, threatened maybe. The SA PHs and their associations have done a great job protecting these animals. I saw large amounts of both of these on my hunts.
Southern white rhino is doing pretty well. Northern white is functionally extinct. The black is endangered. Indian rhino is vulnerable but ok.
He was not correct and accurate, you can’t hunt endangered species!… I’m sure he’s not stupid enough to share illegal photos!… I myself have no desire to hunt those type of animals but to those that do….. kudos to them. Joshb is 100% spot on!…

That’s a straight up business gun.

Here is a pic of my customized M-520 in its Ken Null strong-side ultra high ride holster.
I directed Ken to keep the cylinder located above the top of my belt.

Note… the fwd muzzle rake. This allows a straight out draw of the gun, while keeping
my wrist and forearm in-line w/ the bore.

Howdy, and a very merry Christmas to you !

The stocks are my second pair from Herrett’s. Both my first and second pair were their
“ Jordan Trooper “ pattern. The first pair were walnut, to which I ended up having to add additional relief on the Lt top stock; to better accommodate speed loaders.

For the stocks you saw & asked about, I sent the worn walnut pair back to Herrett’s, to use as a guide for a more-refined version of the “ Jordan Trooper “. They made sure I had adequate speed loader reliefe; and that surface also serves as a dandy thumb rest.
I have fairly large hands, and even though I chose an “ N “ frame .357Mag for carry; there is probably 1/4”+ of aft stocks thickness covering the back strap. This ideally placed my trigger finger pad on the smooth combat trigger. Not evident in the pics, is the
expertly crafted slight tapering the grips make from beneath the speed loaders reliefe down to the flat base of the stocks. *** My M-520 is a “ square butt “. ***

Herrett’s to my knowledge, is no longer in business. They used a tracing the customer provided of their shooting hand… spread out on paper… with the thumb angled basically 90* outward compared to the trigger finger…. a thumb movement that is unique to humans.

I called Herrett’s to ask whether they had any Goncalo Alves in supply, before I ordered.
They answered that they had enough to make one matching pair of stocks for me; and I was quick to commit the $$$.

Using custom stocks is the best thing I have done to improve my handgun shooting, other than practice….practice….practice.

Did you already view the pics I included w/ post response #43, dated 12 Dec ?

Originally only inline while reading the thread. I went back now for the selected and then enlarged view. I wish I could get a set for my GP100. I'd almost rethink my choice and switch to the 627 PC if it was the only way to run a set of those.

I have a 3 inch model 27. Very nice but it is heavy as a boat anchor. I haven't taken it to the range yet. I do have a mint model 28, (early one). The blueing is a deep dark blue, not shiny, but it looks awesome, almost like rust blueing. I think it looks better than the high-end shiny blued SmithWs. The 28 shoots fantastic. about to take possession of a 19-3, near mint. A special one is a 1960s Colt Trooper, 4 inch mint condition. I have it loaded w 38 WCs and it it parked on my GF side of the bed. Super accurate.

A few of my 629's.
Nice! I have a 686-4 and a 66-4 and I am missing a 629-4. Gonna have to get one now that I have been smitten with 'revolveritis'. I would mount a 1 moa Triji on it. Do you think I would be best off with an 8 in bbl to mitigate recoil and squeeze out a few more fps? I would pretty much shoot it off bags at distance.

I’ve been shooting an 8 inch barreled 629 for over 40 years. It sure doesn’t feel long when I shoot it. It’s nice to have a little more weight out front and the longer sight line helps. I’ve never wished I bought I a shorter version. (Yup, it was the movie that made me.)
My model 19 in 357 is a 6” and it’s fine at that length.

There is a cherry -4 on GB that JDavis and Sons in Mo has for 1500. Think i'll grab it! They only sell super nice and rare firearms,.

The last wheel gun I purchased was a 929, it’s a lot of fun to shoot and is very accurate. Adding a Holosun 507C made it even more accurate. LOL. I have some Rugers and like them but you can’t beat a S&W for a good double action trigger.
