Howdy !
I recently realized….all of my friends are old !?!
I’ll be 71 in March….in “ dog years “ !
Maturity wise….I made it to 14.
A counselor once asked my wife…” At what age did your husband meet reach maturity? “
Dollface responded… “ We’re still hopeful ! “
I retired for the second time, 4yr ago. Dollface was overjoyed that I was now able to do all those “ little tasks “ she had stored in her head. She gave me a sizeable list one day, apparently thinking I would tap out when I came to any job beyond my capabilities.
Well shoot… a trip to the hardware store & a couple hours later… I handed her back the list; all checked off. Incredulous, Dollface glared at me and said….
” What makes You think you could fix all this stuff ?! You’re NOT Bob Villa !!
W/O thinking, I shot right back…“ Babe…you bake cakes, and you ain’t Betty Crocker !”
That was not received in the spirit it was given !
Got around to tackling doing our Villa’s landscaping all myself. Once the front was done, took on the backyard work Spring of 2024. Got to a point when all the sod scalping and relocating the sod rolls, digging to bury 75 edging blocks on a slope and such had me all tuckered out. It was a beautiful sunny day, so I layed down in the grass; to take a much needed break. I DK how long I was out, but woke face-up to find Buzzards circling above.
Got back vertical, refreshed with purpose; figuring I best keep moving’ !
I’m still ambulatory, today !
