Where Does The Time Go

Today is my son's birthday, he turns 53! All of a sudden my wife and I are 75, and going to the doctors more frequently than on fun trips. Wow, wake up one day and I'm an old fart! We all need to enjoy something every day, and reflect on our good fortune of friends and family.

Amen to that! I never went to the doctor unless I needed something. Now they call me and want me to come in. I have passed the AARP age of 50. That is when you start getting all the AARP information in the mail. I am the Woodstock generation. It is true now you really start thinking of friends and family, and how much God has blessed you with them.

As an added thought, have you noticed that at the gun range it is full of old timers? I also shoot trap, and most of the shooters are like me. Older! I think a lot of people can't afford to do what we do, or are just plain not interested.

This life will be as a vapor...

Just yesterday I told my friend that my end will be here soon enough, and that is fine with me. Come, Lord Jesus. But as far the rest of my life, here in this place, what is stopping me?

Thank God ever day. Seek God in all things. Trust in the Father. Serve Jesus and believe in His gospel. Love not the world. Live your life.

I would like a 572 crate motor in my wife's Nova. Just to tear around town. For no reason at all. Just to say I did it. :)

Same for me and my wife except our kids have passed. The grandkids are scattered around the US. You are fortunate indeed.

I’m a VietNam veteran so it gives you an idea of my age. Lots of time at the VA due to complications from Agent Orange exposure.
( every single problem from that)
However where’s my mind?
A third 30 BR but with radial rifling and a gain twist.
The moral I think, is to be active especially mentally. I am strictly a 100 yard shooter.
The two 30BR’s are fantastic. But I have to try this idea that’s new to me. What do I think about? Finding a barrel maker!

I have a couple of years on you.
Heck, , what I would do to be 70 again.

You have to keep active. You have to keep your mind sharp by being forced to make decisions that have meaning.

Maybe that is why I continue to work.
Yes, I am in "training" now to lose a bit of weight and improve conditioning. I'm taking on some consulting work again this year, after a break I enjoy the challenges.

Spent most of the morning on the phone trying to talk to couple of Doctors. Didn't get through. While I was on hold I got to thinking about being 80 myself then remembered that the kids are 57 and 59 and a grandson just turned 34 on 12/31.

Oh yea, Charlie. Time flies when we having fun. And I can truly say growing up with my two Sons I've had fun all 70 trips around the sun. As of tomorrow that is, I will hit that big 70 mark. I think the key is staying active (mind and body) as much as we can. God is good all the time.
