I asked this question on another thread I posted that has fizzled out over the last few weeks. No responses. Some of you may recall that I had to send my brand new Tikka 6.5CM to Beretta for warranty service because of some serious issues right out of the box. One of the issues was that some Federal Premium ammo with Nosler Accubonds would not chamber.
After taking some more precise caliper measurements over the weekend, I can see that the extractor groove is much tighter on the Federal ammo than with Norma and Hornady. I can easily find on online what the standard dimensions are supposed to be for any given caliber, but can someone tell me where to find acceptable tolerances? If an extractor groove is .002 smaller than the standard, is it still within acceptable spec?
