Where can I get a rifle stock x-rayed in the Austin,TX area?

I’ve asked a vet clinic and doctor’s office. No dice. Anybody have a good idea? I added a crazy amount of weight to a wood stock and I would like to see and x-ray of it.

Most industrial Non-destructive Testing Service Companies can provide this service but for a price that may not suit you. Just check for those service companies that are in your area.

PS: Not sure how well wood is capable of being radiographed but they will be able to advise you.

It pays to have a shooting acquaintance who was a co-founder of a radiology practice if you happened to want to know how long the aluminum bedding block/spine is in a composite stock . Not that I ever had to do that.

Local industrial x-ray does some small jobs in house.
Take it by their shop and ask.
Avoid 2 man 2 hr minimum plus film cost.
Does your dentist have a sense of humor?
They xray straight to computer screen now.

46and2 enjoy the employment!

Ok. This is going to take a bit of acting skill. You fake a broken leg and use the stock as a splint. When you go into the emergency room go hysterical when they try and remove the "splint"...suggest they xray with the "splint" place.

That’s probably the most expensive idea yet.....lmao

Idk if you know any police officer on the bomb squad but my old partner was. They had an x ray machine and had to use it every so often for training. He would x ray anything I gave him

You might try reaching out to Tim Oltersdorf. He's a retired Radiologist living in Georgetown. Previous US World Benchrest Team member so he's a gun guy. Something wacky like this is right up his alley. I don't have his contact info but will try to find him and PM you the info. Good luck!
