Where are the bullets?

The biggest problem I see is the "Bullet" manufactures are getting into the "Ammunition" business. That's where they are going, or at least those are the bullets they are making. IMHO, I wish the bullet guys would just make bullets, we have enough ammo companies already. Not to mention more ammunition companies eat up powder and primer supplies also.

IMO : Bullet manufacturers are in the same SHIPS as the remaining off shore manufactured goods ,IE. outside Long Beach Harbor ,stacked and packed to the Mexican border awaiting unloading !. The last count was #173 ships anchored up . Materials come from somewhere other than here ,as we all should know by now .

There are a select few manufacturers which already are in the ammo business , as I also attempted to enter into that realm a few months back . Had Mega $ backing , Vista Outdoors decided otherwise .

In case you haven't kept up ,their a MAJOR force to be reckoned with . Components ,Ammo ,Primers ,Powder and gobbling up more at every turn and opportunity .

BEWARE of those companies who become mega conglomerates , You know the ones : They buy out failing Gun brands prop them up boost sales and then run them into the ground and pretend to go bankrupt .

Purpose ; How many USA Gun manufacturers are left ?, How many USA Powder Manufactures are left ?
How many USA Primer manufactures are left ? How many USA Lead and Copper smelting plants are left ?.

The Painting is complete ; Cut the shipping and WE'RE TOAST !.

Went to Cabelas the other day , All they had was 308, .223 for rifle ammo, a guy was looking for 30-06 , nada, I started looking , they used to have all kinds of rifle calibers, nothing. There was a but load of the 223/308.

The government agencies do not order 6mm bullets in large quantities.

They do, however order lots of 22 and 308...

They have their own separate supply contractors and when they exceed their supply , You and I see Mass bulk bullet sales or ammo surplus . With the current pedophile in charge highly doubtful we're gonna see squat until 2023 at the earliest !. Just MY opinion .

Something to seriously consider ; U S Cal .30 has become near as scarce as hens teeth , you're apt to find 7.5 Swiss or 7.65x53mm , Argentine ,6.5x55 mm Swede a whole lot easier .

I shoot Garands and LOAD for them ,we all should know how old those weapons are and realize their nearly obsolete in terms of Ammo manufacturers eyes . If anybody thinks I'm kidding ,think again and price a #100 cases ,IF you can find them . What once was so plentiful , 10's of K's of once fired cases could be had for a couple of cases of beer !. PLEASE let ME know IF any of those deals are around .
What's the most popular hunting round in USA ?

I'm just saying It's the age of .204 .224 ,6 mm 6.5 .284 7mm and any other 1K flat shooters BR hybrids .

I just got a box of 223 55 Vmax's at the local shop, allowed only one box. I shot them years ago, they're good and they will work for me. However I have had better results with Nosler 55 BT's so I switched about 10 years ago or so. But I may be going back to Hornady's since I haven't seen Noslers for over a year. It's good to have some alternatives in this "brave new world."

My biggest need is primers, Federal 205M, small rifle match are my go to primers but haven't seen them either in over a year plus. I ration my shooting so I should have enough to get them through 2022 predator and varmint hunting with some limited range practice. Such is the crazy world we now live it.

I’m asking this seriously. Where are all the bullets? Berger 115 is one of my backups. Have not sent them on the shelf’s in 3 or more months. Is it jackets in shortage? Hard to understand what is going on.
I just got 12 cases of jackets yesterday Dan. I should of sold you the 7400 Berger 115's that I had laying around when I shot that last match in CT in October.

I just want to know were the 7mm bullets are i see other cals all over my neck of the woods and online but not a stinkin .284 bullet to be had anywere on this earth

Here's an interesting article on the subject. It basically states that the two giants who own the majority of ammunition manufacturing - Olin and Vista - are playing the supply and demand game, giving themselves massive profits and paying down debt, while not doing anything significant (more production facilities) to try and cure the problem. Why would they I suppose, if they can keep the supply "down" and charge record setting prices for a product during this spike (which will eventually go away), rather than spend a pile on building a factory that may eventually not be needed.
