When will Primers Be Available ?

Meanwhile, they keep showing up on the shelves at the big box stores from time to time. Sportsmans warehouse will not ship, in store sales only. Good business practice!

Just keep going in every few days.. I drop in look and leave. Somedays I get lucky and they had some come in and put them out. We have 4 gun stores here and one 15 miles away.

Not only a massive increase in buying, but Remington is "in flux" for a while and they handle 20-25% of the primers sold in the US. So take 20-25% right off the top of the supply chain even before all the noobs rush the primer aisles.

Found these today coming home from vacation. Small shop only had this box out, didn’t dare ask if he had any more. Paid my money and probably danced on the way out.
Could be worse: back during the first Obama sale I paid $75.00 from Sinclair, and they were Czech primers to boot. Probably lots on the shelf in the EU. Has anybody looked into shipping from there?

I think it’s all fear-driven. When a few 100 / few 1000 people that are afraid of a shortage start placing larger than usual orders, it creates a few “out of stock” conditions at some online retailers and once a few 100 / 1000 more people see that or start chatting about it and start panic buying the snowball is off and running downhill. There’s no stopping it until everything’s bought up.

Funny thing to me is the guy that has 10k 223 and a couple ARs. How many rounds you gonna get off when a tank is rolling down your street? Or if you got to split how many rounds fit in your go bag? If you think your gonna survive up in the hills do you really want to drag all that lead around with you? If I had an AR I think a couple loaded 30 rounders would be more than enough. If I had a AR that is. Lost mine in a boating accident.

Hey mike , maybe you missed the $250 a brick prices lately . In a SHTF scenario they’re not just for loading .

Oh and we all could load some for sale as well . When there’s nothing to be found and truely no end in sight . Ammo will be worth it’s weight in gold .

It’s an investment as well . If the SHTF never comes and the new utopia sets in , great ! I’ve got plenty of ammo to shoot .

It's been said that if 1000 are $90.00 it's only .06 cents more per round which doesn't seem bad I suppose if you're buying a few dollars worth. For the same money you could have got 3000 back in a day. I'm not primer rich nor poor, lower middle class maybe but I'll not pay premium prices to get more. For what I need I'm good and when (hopefully) things get better I'll buy more.

I have a couple boxes of ammo, some brass, couple primers, enuff powder, some boolits, and a press.
Enough to teach the next generation what to do and how.

Guys-

Politics aside.... What metal is used in manufacturing primers and is it readily available and native to the U.S. or do we, or do we have to, import it?

Be sure to update your wills and living trusts regarding primer disposition. I hate the thought of all my guns being auctioned off for $20.00. But the primers and powder?...... We need to find way ways to brainwash these politicians at a young age. Like "guns are good". Heck - it worked on our children the other way around.
