When to switch to 6br improved?

I purchased a used borden 6br and because of its 269 chamber I am buying new brass. My old rifle had a 262 neck. The rifle has 2 6br barrels one with about 1000 rounds the other new. I have been waiting because I keep thinking I may want to chamber to a dasher or brdx.Should I chamber now or wait? How does forming used brass work should i shoot it for a while?

As long as that 6 BR is shooting well keep on shooting it. They have a great barrel life somewheres north of 2500-3000 rounds. As for using same brass it's ok as long as the chambers were cut with same reamer.

If you are going to form BRX or dasher brass you should do it with new brass. The Br brass that you are shooting should last you 50 plus firings if you anneal it. Matt

So here is the next question is both barrels were chambered by Jim. Now is the re chambering and extra velocity worth the cost or should I shoot them as is.

Out to 600 yds, the 6mm BR is just fine.

Only reason to go to an improved version is you want to shoot farther. The improved BRs have less drift at 1000yds than the std. version.

As Troy Landry would say "CHOOT EM"

I went to the BRX and hears the reason. I'd been shooting the 6BR for several years in midrange competition and doing well (High Master) after reviewing my scores I noticed every once in a wile I'd leak a 9 out the side (3-9) probably from not catching wind changes. If I had another 100 - 150 fops those 9's would have been wide 10's.
