If you haven't seen it, used it, or needed it in 6 months, get rid of it weather you sell it or shit can it.

That's the problem I'm facing now, going through and weeding out what you really need to keep.I'm a child of depression era parents. I keep everything...it was bred and beat into me and it is just who I am now.
It’s not wasteful if you “Pay It Forward” by donating items to those in need/less fortunate that can put them to good use.I'm a child of depression era parents. I keep everything...it was bred and beat into me and it is just who I am now.

I would give most anything I have to anyone that needs it but, sadly, much of what I have would be classified as trash by many. I still have a couple cans of old square nails my father had when he died. I pick through stuff that, even to me is trash and take it to the dump. Then, while I'm there, I find more stuff that "could come in handy" and come home with more than I left with. It’s not wasteful if you “Pay It Forward” by donating items to those in need/less fortunate that can put them to good use.
We had to move just about everything from the main level of the house we've been in for 37 years to the lower level a couple weeks ago to re-carpet the main level. We cannot believe just how much sh_t we have and where it all came from, much less how the hell we found some place to put it all. We are trying our level best to de-clutter, but as others have said, "I might need that someday", is said way too often. That's the problem I'm facing now, going through and weeding out what you really need to keep.
14 years in this house, its the longest I've ever lived in 1 place and the accumulation of stuff I haven't seen in years is evident.
It’s not fun at 61 either….When you are in you your seventies and moving by yourself, it can get overwhelming to say the least.
