What's your platform?

You talked me into it, I just decided to reload some .308's and get mine out and shoot it again. My .308 was my first Long Range Rifle and it earned my respect and taught me a lot from the beginning.
Dilly Dilly”
I was just shootin the old girl last weekend.

Drilled it.

Cool story OP.....

7-08 SPS R700 a cpl weeks ago on the 100 yd berm here at the house. 15$ Ebay B&L 3-9 that we went through (wasn't much wrong with it).Strictly cast, this is a 145g RCBS mould,3 shot group and that was a called "flyer" on the low right. First two went in the same hole. Factory tupperware has had plenty of work done internally.... rifle is a '16 model. It's my daily driver.20190802_111228_resized.jpg

My 7.62 x 51 platform is an old Winchester Model 88 with the advanced Lyman perma center 4x optics. Not exactly state of the art but still shoots minute of doe.

I was at a range a few years back. My smallest steel plate is 7” and I had it set at 400 yards the farthest you can shoot there. I was shooting one of my BRX’s and 7” at 400 yards gets boring real fast. A guy sets up next to me w a Savage Tactical rifle of some sort with some really big cheap tactical scope and asks if he can shoot my steel too. I tell him sure. He emptied at least 30 rounds and never hit once. He said something about the scope being off...
Last week a youngun was shooting a bar 3006 next to me , he shot 40 round's and never hit the paper. His barrel must have been super hot at that point. I told him to shoot while i looked for the dust. His shot was 28" high at 100 yds. He had crap base's and crap rings so i told him to get talley light weight rings and then his problem will be solved.

Here is my favorite 7mm "Creedmore".....Model Seven with an H-S Precision stock, Pac-Nor #1 contour barrel, Calvin Elite and Vortex Razor scope. It does thump my shoulder a little being in a "mountain rifle" configuration. P3300023.JPG P3300028.JPG

You should see the looks I get at the rifle range shooting my bolt action rifles exclusively off of shooting sticks or at the pistol range shooting my blued S&W's Model 19, 357, magnum revolver and Model 17, 22 rimfire revolver.
