Mine is a stock savage model 25 in 223 i just up graded the optic to a Leupold mark 4 not too long ago. It fits me perfect right down to cheek well.. it's taken hundreds of woodchucks.

I've always had a thing for the 220 Swift. This Ruger is stock except for replacing the awful factory trigger with a Timney. Scope is a Weaver T24.

Hey Spike, mine is a stock Howa thumb hole varmiter. .243, Leupold vx3, 4.5x14x50. With the varmiter reticle. Sighted a 200 the 3,4 and 500 hash marks very close. I love the howa action I just wish I could afford to rebarrel it. Barrel, plus smith, plus ship FFL too much $. I have about 1500 rounds through it now. I like the barrel nut idea. I'm thinking of buying a savage or maybe a rem 700 action. Remage prefits maybe. Wish there were HowAge prefits. I live in the desert and call coyotes. 3 to 500 yard shots common. I've shot lots of yotes with a .222 and in my opinion it's all lite. I've seen many shot through and through with a 1" exit hole still run 100 yards. With the 243 they don't take a step. Anyway thanks for your post it's keeping me away from the political crap. A coyote is a varmit isn't it? Mike

My latest and mobestest. 40XBR in 22BR. It has easily extended my ground squirrel lethality out to the 300+ zone. The 24X fixed Leupold isn't quite right for what I need, but is OK for now.



Currently putting together a 20-222 that I hope will be ready for this spring. jd

Savage 17 HMR - stainless with laminated stock, and threaded for a SilencerCo Sparrow. Scope is a Leupold Ultralight 4x28 in Talley one-piece rings.

It's the perfect "walkabout" varmint gun. Woodchucks and crows are toast out to 100yd+, and it's very light and easy to carry, despite the heavy-contour barrel.

And it's quiet enough I can hunt with my son, and not wear ear pro!

Mike, I almost bought a howa a couple years ago in 22-250 the guy had it set up in a beautiful dark walnut stock ... I decided not to after finding out it had a lot of rounds down it and I didn't want the added coast of rebarreling it...

I always thought hunting with a suppressor would be nice, than I just found out a month or so ago that Michigan made them legal to hunt with so might have to start working towards getting one..

I've got a lot of favorites, but at the top of the heap(or the front of the gun safe in this case) is my Cooper Phoenix in 204 ruger. Cooper builds a fine rifle, and with the synthetic stock, I don't have to worry about dents and dings on a nice piece of walnut! I also have a Leupold on mine, a VX3 6.5x20. My longest shot to date is a SD PD at 705 yards with a Nosler 40gr BT, it is like a laser!

Big time +1 for Leupold. I have 3 scopes plus binos and rangefinder. Never ever had any problems. I sent one scope in for reticle change. It was back in three weeks.

Leupolds are light. With the exception of the $$$$ tactical stuff, they don't like to be dialed a lot, and tracking is usually off. For those reasons I won't use them for long-range rigs, but they are nice for hunting rifles.

in 2012 i set three 1000 yd IBS world records with a 8-25x50mm long range Leupold vx-III on my gun. they were for 10 and 6 match Aggs, Not good at long range you say? Go figure.

That is a collection to be sitting in back of a truck ... I would be on def con 4 with those setting in it never letting it leave my sight... pb go after someone for looking at it funny ..

That's the first time I've heard they don't like to be dialed much and tracking isn't good... I know my mark 4 sure tracks nice

Paint marker million +1 uses.. next to duct tape zip ties and vise grips
