What’s your favorite reloading piece

Bebchrite case lathe.....
21st Century primer.....
The 419 Zero Press I picked up from a friend is quickly moving to the top of the list....
Custom dies....

I'd say my Dillon 550 press next to my Fx120i. Although, I made some beautiful crimps with my Lee wack-a-mole 20 ga reloading set the other day. I just like those stupid Lee loaders for some reason. (Was loading rice in 20ga hulls to get after the carpenter bees when they come back out)

RCBS Competition Seating Dies. I try to have a seater for each of my rifle calibers. I like the top bullet loading feature, especially now since my hands are not as nimble as they use to be. I wish they made a top-loading seater for .256 WM so I could easily seat flat base bullets for my custom Martini. I've had bullets tilt over inside the die & ruin the case. I hate being restricted to boattails & deep chamfers!

All my long guns are hunting rifles but I also like to reload & punch paper. Max accuracy is always the goal.

What in your guys reloading bench would you say is your favorite piece of reloading gear? Outside of your press what’s one piece of gear that you would buy first if doing it again?
For me I really like my powder dispenser. Nothing fancy just a charge master light but really enjoy not having to throw main charge and then trickle in the rest
Easily my V3 setup.
30 to 90+ grains in under 10 seconds with single grain accuracy.

JWV, what is your discipline & what is your goal for repeatability? Example is give or take 1/2 grain close enough to satisfy your level of OCD? what scale do you use for verifying the Chargemaster? What propellants do you utilize?

I used to shoot in one shot competition. One shot at 150 yds., closest to the 1/4" bullseye wins the pot. I won a lot of money doing that. Now it's mostly varmints. My philosophy is, to be able to place my shot to within a 1/2" of my point of aim at 150 yds.
I've found that my Harrells powder measure throws drops that are consistent enough for fine accuracy.
If you read the directions, margin of error is +/- .1 gr.. In the real world, that amounts to .2 gr. variation because each drop could be either a tenth over or under.
About 20 years ago, there used to be a magazine called The Varmint Hunter that wrote about these issues. The articles they wrote put to bed a lot of these sacred cows that cost a lot of money for no return.

Some things I like in about the order of need.

Paper towel. Use them during loading and cleaning.

Mitutoyo calipers

A good powder dispenser

21st century hand priming tool

Wilson FLS die

PMA neck turning tool

Carbide expanding and turning mandrels.

I have to say my FX120 and the Mitutoyo caliper. I use that caliper constantly and don't have to re zero it all the time. And the scale just works and is fast compared to my old beam and cheap digital that I had to keep calibrating all the time. Not having to repeat things IS a time saver.

FW arms decapping die. makes decaping fun! I think dillon bought it now. After years of a universal decapping die, having the pin hit the inside, jamming, the FW can fly thought a 100 rounds in nothing flat. it self centers and pops the primers out.

My brain. not used much until i set down to the bench.. Has not failed me since 1963. Tommy Mc

My favorite peace of the reloading bench is is the silence, there's nothing like hearing a single kernel of powder trickle into the pan on a beam scale.
No fancy gadgets, scales, anealers, or gizmos...
Just silence!!

Probably my B&S Dial Calipers.
I've had several brands including mitutoyo
But I use Calipers constantly, and the B&S are always smooth and accurate

I competed for 20+ years in Highpower. I've upgraded much of my reloading equipment over the last few years but the one single piece of equipment I've had for a long time and cannot do without is my Giraud trimmer. I've wondered the last 2 years how I've done without my V4 & FX120i. Same for the Zero press and new Garmin chrono. But the Giraud I just cannot do without.
