What’s your favorite 223 bullet for 600 yards

With a 7 twist I’d skip the 77s

shoot a 85.5 Berger an 88 ELD or the 90 VLD/SMK
I’m just starting 88 development but have yet to find a load as accurate as my 80s.
Not mention the throating needs and case capacity aspects of 88s. Long story short— most folks will find 80s can shoot inside 88s unless special steps are taken.

Basically, they are all going to work, true, your rifle may like one better then another.
I shot a 1:7 twist out of Service Rifle for too many years, everything from 52 SMK’s through the 69’s, 77’s and various 80’s. They all made it to the target fine, even through the rapid fire stages.
As I said, they all should work, but if I was still shooting SR, I would look at the 73 and 80.5 Berger‘s.
I’m sure you can spin something fast enough to come apart, in almost 50 years of shooting, I only witnessed bullets not make the target a handful of times, and that was always due to speed, a very worn throat and at the time mainly Hornady bullets. (I think they fixed that issue).
The RDF’s may/might be harder to tune (my experience), if they shoot well, they’ll buy you some wind. Most of the other bullets are very jump tolerant and should shoot well at any reasonable jump and load.

I have tried the 69 and 60tmks but nothing bigger, the smaller ones shoot well at 2 and 300. The berger 73 shoots well at 600 if it's not windy. The nosler 77 cc works alright too.
Have you compared the 77CC Nosler to the 77SMK in a 8 twist bolt gun? Just curious because I always heard the 77SMK was supposed to be just a mag length bullet and didn’t know if that limited accuracy.

I have shot them bolt in a 7 and 8 twist service rifle(ar15) only and have always shot them mag length. Typically I use them for 300 yd rapid fire prone but I have shot both at 600 for practice. The mr1 600 yd target is not a bench rest target but I don't think the OP is looking for that kind of accuracy.
I would imagine they should still be fine longer than mag length.

My buddy's PRS. 223 trainer is a bolt gun. Both the 77cc and the 77smk are in the 2.35"+ area and run pretty good and definitely accurate to 700 yards on 1.5-2 moa steel.

In Ftr I started with an 8 twist which shot the 80.5 Berger very accurately at 300yd, so well that a couple of buddies followed suit with the same setup. But at 500yd the scores depended a bit on the wind and at 600yd it was rare not to drop even more points. So I changed to a 6.8 twist to shoot the 90vld and the longer range scores increased nicely. I tried the new 85.5, and it is inferior thus far, while on paper it should do well at 600 as well. Higher bc heavies for 600 are the ticket.

Don’t have experience with RDF, but say go with the Sierra 80’s. Sierra Regular 77’s good too The tmks seem to give me unexplained fliers for some reason.

I see you're a belt AND suspenders person. I like it. I think you have everything covered. ;)
My wife ( retired teacher) says I dot all my I’s and cross all my Tee’s, my son says I get on his last nerve. My daughter made me go to counseling about it last year. And my grand kids love me no mater what. I figure by the time I figure out the right combo I won’t be able to find any of it ‍♂️

80.5 from the NM AR and 85.5 from the Fullbore rifle though I have used the 80.5 and now discontinued 82 with good success @ 6 in the 223 match (criterion) chamber in Fullbore rifle.

FWIW, my gas gun with 7.7" Krieger 20" long shoots the Hornady 75 factory rounds really well. I have tried several 77s and 73, not as well as the 75s. It almost 1/4" at 100 yards.

I run the 77gr RDF's in my CBI 26" 7 twist 223 bolt gun and they are awesome! .228 G7 bc is spot on to 1100 yards

The 77 TMK seems to split the difference between the 77 SMK and the 80 SMK.

80 SMK is very popular for the 600 yard line SR loads and 77 TMK is very popular for any work on varmints at those distances since it tends to act like a hollow point even though it isn’t advertised as a hunting bullet.

I haven't really seen any "custom" bullets that I would consider good choices for shooting 600 yd. Some are too light IMO, and/or have a flat base, which really isn't ideal for that distance. If you know of any "custom" 0.224" bullets in the 80+ gr range that are high BC boattail designs, could you list them here? I'd love to look them over, just haven't really found them in the past.
