I am not up on photo shopping at all, but it looks to me like the brass is way bigger than 223 brass. I know perspective would make it look bigger as it is ejecting towards the camera, but I don't think it would look that big.

He doesn't know how to shoulder the rifle. Phony photo. A great weapon for fleet defense on the open seas. Why is there a hand on his shoulder.See anything wrong with this photo of Cmdr. Cameron Yaste, the Commanding Officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56)?

No more seagoing bellhops.I served USN in on a Destroyer Escort the 70's and in those days, Marines were not on the smaller vessels including Cruisers or Destroyers/Frigates.
Small arms were the direct responsibility of the Gunners Mates. If there were no Marines onboard, then this screw up belongs to them.
Would hate to be the Chief Petty officer in charge of them on the McCain after this pix hit the media.
If that's the case, it just blew up in their faces. You can be sure the USN isn't going to sit back and be embarrassed globally and just laugh about it. I'm betting by now, the Chief of Naval Operations knows about this. There is the possibility that someone was “screwing” with him and purposely mounted his scope backward.
I would expect quick disciplinary action too, but this is the "new" military. Today, you have to ask the offenders to please stop their pranks. You don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. If that's the case, it just blew up in their faces. You can be sure the USN isn't going to sit back and be embarrassed globally and just laugh about it. I expect disciplinary action against those involved. It may even involve all the way to the Captain of the ship.
Self important leftists can't stand a good joke, so Im betting someone is being "relieved of command due to lack of ability to lead" or whatever PC line they toss out there.I would expect quick disciplinary action too, but this is the "new" military. Most likely. OR he was screwing around and someone decided to take a pic. It's a QD mount and can be turned around in a few seconds...There is the possibility that someone was “screwing” with him and purposely mounted his scope backward.
