What's with a .220 Russian

The story I read about the 220 Russian was, the Russians had used it for several years in rifle competitions, the cartridge being based off of their 7.62X39 case. The Americanized versions, 22PPC and 6PPC came about from a primer study by Ferris Pindell. The Russian case was chosen as the basis for the PPC cartridge because the flame size and pattern from the Federal small rifle match primer matched the internal configuration of this case.

fyi -wolff gunsprings has the springs, but maybe not in stock. if you need one in a hurry i have some rem 600's Alan used for his centerfire actions

Thanks, Good to know. At one time I thought that If needed, I might try to replace it with a 700 spring like I do everything else. Shows how dumb I am. I think it best to leave it to Dusty. I am sure learning from this site

yep - you wont' regret it!!!! what he didn't tell you was i had attempted to do this based on some threads on here and you tube. tried to drill out the roll pin and was still a no go - so i got scared i was going to do unrepairable damage to the unobtainium Hall bolts. sent to my pal and he bailed me out, didn't even try to shame me!!! lol

22 Beggs is the 220 Russian. Order the dies, load and shoot it. No fireforming. Turn the necks and nothing else. I have been very happy with mine and will rebarrel my 6ppc to 22 Beggs when it needs it.
