Whats up with 6BR / BRA ?.

Please forgive the ignorant question.But i'm wondering whats unique or special about this caliber or group of calibers that it gets its own forum and is separated out from everything else? Esp all the other 6mms.

Is it prolific use in benchrest shooting or what's the deal? Does it have a unique history or provenance or something that makes Uniquely accurate? Can other calibers be just as accurate?

I'm not as much a newbie, as I sound like LO.L I just seriously don't know much of anything about this caliber.

The 6BR and all of the off-springs have shown some very good accuracy very close to the 6PPC and in some isolated cases even beating the PPC. The case has sponsored many off-springs that keep winning consistently. This definitely qualifies it for all the recognition afforded.

It’s as simple as, “they just plain shoot”.. If You will shoot 1,000yds, go with the 6mmBRA. It’s the only variant needed to get started IMO.

Shooting the 6br definley will not hurt your chances of shooting in the 0.1 and 0.2

A very nice cartridge with arguably unmatched attributes for up to 1,000 yard +/- targets. Blends ultra-accuracy with LOW recoil. It is also capable of shooting deer-sized game when the barrel twist is at least 1-8" or faster to carry heavier projectiles - and ultra-accurate with lighter varmint bullets and slower twist tubes. Very universal cartridge that is flat out accurate. Whether shooting Bench Rest, F-Class or other such competitive disciplines or small to medium game, it's a tough one to beat.

One thing not notes is the round is inherently accurate... as in as long as you get the right bullet for the twist rate when you start load development it shoots dang good across a span of powder charges... you can fine tune it still, but in my experience you have to be shooting good to be able to tell what it really likes because **.0 may shoot just as good as **.5 where as in other cartridges you can see a difference change easier in .1 or .2 increments.
