Whats the consensus on:

Ive been gone for a while, busy with life..

Whats the consensus on the best, or top performing calibers to push those 7mm 195 gr bergers?

Anything come to life with it in the past 6 months? New wildcat calibers just for those bullets?

They performing at 2900 - 3000 fps+?

Are you target shooting? Hunting ,both? That would help. I doubt you want a 338 lapua wildcat due to kick but you never know.

I have a 338 lapua already.. just wondering if the debate settled in on a select few calibers... dusty i figured that, that was my guess all along.

I wouldn't rule out the 7 RUM and STW, with RL33 they top of the factory rounds. Don't buy into the Nosler BS that the 28 Nosler is faster. It's a new caliber and definitely has it's usefulness but look at case capacity if velocity is what your looking for. Just look through the Nosler book and ask yourself why they did not use the same powders in the old calibers but did in the new Noslers (marketing). A friend of mine has a 32"bbl STW pushing the 183's to 3420fps with RL33, not to shabby!

To get to the 2900-3000 fps you mentioned, a 7 SAUM pushed very hard could do it.
A 7mm/300WSM would do it easily, as would a 7 Rem Mag.
If you want over 3000 fps, then one of the big calibers the others mentioned would be needed.
A 7 SAUM or 7mm/300WSM would be good for F class, the other calibers just too big for long fast shot strings and no muzzle brakes.

Another vote for the 28 Nosler, standard long action, good brass, no belts, great speed, unreal accuracy.
