I'm aware. My own range is 300m. I'm just saying that 28 yards really makes a difference. WH300 meters = 984 feet 3.0236 inches or 328.084 yards.

Not directed at anyone here but I just wanna be clear that my previous reply is based on IDEAL conditions. I tried to be very clear about that in my post and point out that doing it in perfect conditions at my home range is not the same as match conditions. Testing in great conditions has value, as does testing in real world match conditions. I've shot a big handful of world records here that don't show up in any record books or match reports. Being able to walk out to my reloading room, attached to my shop at dusk or dawn in perfect conditions, setting up on a very good concrete bench and even turn the heat or ac on is a big advantage(sort of), I'll be the first to admit. As is just turning around and tweaking the load at my loading bench. It doesn't mean others can't have better or do better with less but it does afford things to me that I sometimes take for granted when it comes to testing. And yes, we're talking world class rifles too, that have won national championship aggs.If you’re referring of the photo I posted, no. Five .750” (19.05mm) groups would’ve been good enough for 4th place that day.
The OP was asking what some of these rifles can do in ideal conditions, so this isn’t exactly what he was wanting but it’s still real world match results which I thought might be helpful. There aren’t a lot of 300 meter matches out there after all.
In match conditions, I 100% agree. Even at 200, keeping them all under an inch can be tough. That's simply not the question the op asked, nor my standard for ideal conditions.Bart. I think was right .7oo is a good place to be for 5 shots in good conditions. the guys that say they 1/2inch at 500yds is unseasonable in most conditions . when speedy shoots a .646 at 300 meters he's
a world class shooter with world class gun. anything close to that is great . I shoot 300 in practice and
sometimes i shoot small . I thought I was better than that . but I was wrong. because I ain't no
speedy Gonzales . OLD Rick
3 shot groups off my bench at home shot at 300 meters don’t translate well to 5 shot groups shot off the benches at 300 meters at DrybranchNot directed at anyone here but I just wanna be clear that my previous reply is based on IDEAL conditions. I don't say any of this to brag, but to say that what I said before is MY rule of thumb and what I look for in great conditions from me and my equipment.. that I'm fortunate to be able to take advantage of, when I'm not working in the shop....which has a tendency of late, to really get in front of my shooting. Lol!
Shooting in great conditions is the easy part. Doing it in match conditions is a different ballgame and I commend anyone that wins big matches and sets world records in an actual match!

Yeah, that place is brutal most days.3 shot groups off my bench at home shot at 300 meters don’t translate well to 5 shot groups shot off the benches at 300 meters at DrybranchView attachment 1725990View attachment 1725991
That load/barrel would shoot 5 shot groups in the zeros at 100 yards.i was checking my come ups to 300 meters more than anyghingI’ don’t know if the range location makes any difference.
Banking on 3 shots as a true representation without 5 shot conformation a guy could be left with disappointment.
Ask me how I know…
Zeros and ones at 100 does not always translate to ones at 300.That load/barrel would shoot 5 shot groups in the zeros at 100 yards.i was checking my come ups to 300 meters more than anyghing
