What would I need to convert a Savage 110?

From 30-06 to 300 win mag?

I'm thinking a bolt head, a new box magazine with follower and a barrel. I have a stock 110 with a wood stock but would like either the accu-stock or a synthetic of some sort. Anyone have a suggestion on a good medium weight or heavy weight barrel? I want this to be a nice long-range hammer. Will the accu-trigger drop in to a 110?

I have plans to over haul my 110 in the next year or 2. It was given to me which is why I want to keep it and overhaul it instead of selling it and getting a ready-to-go Remington 700. I can also do my own glass-bedding as I have experience with bedding M14 variants which are extremely difficult. A bolt gun should be no problem for me.

I would personally go with an aftermarket stock over a factory Savage, even if it is an accustock. Look at what Stocky's Stocks has to offer, as they have a good variety of nice stuff available.

And don't bother with an Accu-Trigger either unless you really like them. There are other drop-in triggers that are easier to install and likely cheaper as well.I have both a Timney and a Rifle Basix SAV-2, and both are nice triggers that were pretty simple to install. The SAV-2 is a very light trigger, and is probably best for target shooting or varminting. They make another with a bit more pull weight, I believe 2-4lbs that is more suitable for hunting. The Timney is set around 1lb on my rifle, and can go much heavier.

For a good barrel, call Pac-Nor. They make an awesome product. I have one on my .222 and it's super accurate and easy to clean. A light varmint or heavy varmint is a nice contour, depending on what you want for weight.

I have never done any magazine conversions, so I can't help you there.

Is this a staggered feed or centerfeed action? Also, check with Jim at Northland Shooters Supply he can help you out with eithere Shilen or McGowen barrels.

OK.....The bolt face should swap out easily. Finding LA stocks for the savage is trickier than the SA. Check out sharpshootersupply, check out northland supply, check out stockys, check out mcmillan, there is also stockade. For the barrels many companies produce drop in barrels.
Sharp Shooter Supply....Uses douglas and brux

I hope this helps
