Savage 110 LA conversion to .223

Help? Any of you wonderful gun gurus...how do I get this to work.
I have the .223 barrel, not big deal there. I have the .223 bolt face, again, a no brainer.
But how do I get the 110 LA to feed .223 properly?
I know that they used to make a 110 LA in .223, with a staggered feed internal magazine. But finding any parts for one seems to be very difficult. I would like to keep the rifle internal staggered feed if possible.
Can I use the exhisting magazine with a .223 follower and spring, and a spacer inside the magazine to move cartridge operations forward? Would the exhisting magazine have to have the magazine lips bent in?
Any advice or guruship would be welcome here.
I know about the cdi conversion, but I am trying to keep it internal feed for a sleek calling rifle type setup.
Please, help me out here guys (or gals).

"Any advice or guruship would be welcome here."

I have access to a factory 110LA .223. Will be where it is sometime this week and will measure the spacer and follower and post dimensions and orientation of the spacer.
This is in a blind magazine rifle.

Original Cartridge is .30-06. I have scoured Numrich, with no results. While some .223 magazine are available, they are not staggered feed, and will not work in this application. I don't believe the older Savage 110 LA .223's staggerfeed rifles used a shorter mag box. If I remember correctly, my friends was just a regular length mag box...but it was years ago. I am trying to confirm what the actual setup was in those older 110 LA .223's.
Thx

Measured up 2 Savage 110's in .223 today. Action screw spacing was 5.046", internal mag box has a sheet metal plate staked in the rear that sets internal length to 2.305", the mag box itself is long enough to accommodate '06 length rounds.

The follower is 2.260" long and has a step on the left side that rises .13" above the face of the follower, the step is .338" wide at its base and the inside edge is tapered at app. 45 degrees.

It appears that a spacer of any durable material could be placed in the rear of a std. long mag box and a standard follower could be shortened to convert to .223.

Measurements taken with a digital caliper, the yardstick was too awkward.

Maybe I give up to easy but I'm thinking your not going to find a blind mag for your project. Have you checked over at Savage Shooters forum? Someone over there may have one laying around.

Try getting a center feed mag .

Make some spacers and fit it into the blind mag portion of your stock. Seems to work for the guys around here.

I may have a 223 mag for a early 110 . I've got dozens of new old stock parts for the older savages . Finding them is the hard part !
