What will stop an 80TTSX?

...only a tree, apparently! :)

Blew another Barnes right through a nice doe, man these 80TTSX bullets sure make the 6x45AI look good! Perfect exit and not an ounce of shoulder meat ruined. Heckuva little deer killin' combo, IMHO...

Now, if a big buck would just step out, we can get the show on the road!

Good hunting, all!

I agree with you those Barns TTSX bullets are awesome. I have killed eight whitetails with my 6.5x 284 using the 100gr TTSX at a moderate speed with incredible results. I have found them to be very accurate out of my Cooper rifle and very minimal copper fouling. And a bonus, you definitely get a blood trail to follow ..... if necessary!

Nice picture!
Brought back a fond memory of when I was kid armed with my Winchester 9422M,shot a woodchuck standing in front of a fence post, left a lasting impression of the effectiveness of that 22mag at 75 yards.
Glad you "used enough gun":)

Fred,
That is a great picture-thanks for sharing. If a picture is worth a thousand words, that picture speaks volumes. It really shows clearly just what the TTSX will do ! Good shooting and great experience....

Nothing stops that bullet. I run the 25 cal 80 grain TTSX in my custom 257 Weatherby. Killed numbers 6 and 7 with it this year, a 130 inch 10 point at 370 yards went 16 yards and my wife killed a 126 inch 8 point at 325 yards that went 227 lbs live weight. Her bullet went through ribs on both sides and out a shoulder blade. Tough bullet. It also will stay together at 3900 fps for a 70 yard shot too.

I run the 180 gr TTSX bullets in my 35 Whelen and I've yet to recover a bullet from a deer or hog. Zips right through em, terminal performance has been great. Insides are liquefied.

I shot through a 6" pine and killed the buck on the other side with a barnes 140g regular tripple shock, 7 Mag.

a favorite now is a 338 WM with a 165g Tipped barnes tripple shock at 3200 fps, very accuate

Wow-people shooting trees and trees BLEEDING. I don think they do that around here. Ill have to shoot one to find out.

Good luck on the continued success w/ those calibefrs.

I thought about trying some 80 gr Barnes in my 25/45 but didnt, maybe next summer. Any suggested loads for that caliber??

I've never needed but one. And have never had one not completely penetrate elk, deer, pronghorn, or swine. They are amazing bullets.

Try a 95g nbt. You sure wont have to worry about it exiting as it will blow up on the inside of the deer!! Yes it will destroy some meat but they kill drt.
