What velocity out of 6ppc using 65 gr SMBT

Unless you have a modern BR action, or a custom bolt that has been bushed with a reduced firing pin dia. Your probably going to blank primers at anything close to 29.5 grain! Blank8ng primers can mean DNF's, and damaging your bolt.

I will get just as good of accuracy at 22.8 to 29.2 grains, I will have barrel life way better than above that, and if I do my part reding conditions, I'll shoot just as good out to 200 yards.

I played the 29.8 to 30.5 grain game for a year, with Bat DS, I went back to 29.0 to 29.2 and life is better! Consistency is why!

And that is the rest of the story!

I agree. My rifle liked my load of 68 gr. Bart's BT Avengers w/29.2 gr. VV-N133 better than going hotter. Had 3 consecutive groups in the zeros with it at three different settings of the E C V2 tuner so I think the tune is wide enough. Gonna get the chrono out next time around with it to see what it looks like.

This is what I've found Bill. I think that that top node over 29.5 is so touchy to stay in tune, chasing it, cost most more matches, or good groups than that lighter load node.

As far as speed, I consider 100 fps a by product, if you read a condition wrong, I doubt one or two thousandths of a second getting the bullet to the target at 200 yards is going to get you a thousandth of an inch better target?

Bill my new Sako is getting 3350 fps with 29.0 grains of N133 in a larger USA chamber. I don't remember in my Bat the exact fps, but at 30.2 grain it has never made 3500!

With 220 Russian brass for a PPC
It won't hold enough N133 to cause a problem. A lot of people worry about shooting it too Hot
The important thing is finding a load in the upper window that is in tune for that day
an in tune 3500 load is gonna be better than an in-tune 3350 load IME, especially at 200yds or further

Don't worry about too much 133 you can't put too much
Oh, they can be loaded to hot in Texas...6 PPC out of my Viper last month at a match..108 degrees in the shade. 220 Russian brass 5th firing.

A crono tells you what the powder is like after the best load is found.

Different lots can give different speeds. I got some old unopened powder and it is slower than the newer powder i had.
I was shooting 29.8 now I'm shooting 30.1 to get the same speed and accuracy.

Barts 68's
Yea, I don't even fool with the chrono until I get my load figured out.
