What trigger

I have a accutrigger I have adjusted it as lo as it will go. I do not shoot completion but would like to get a trigger that is a pretty good adjustable trigger, I had someone tell me rifle basix. I also would like to know if a gun smith can adjust the accutrigger?

The "gun smiths" I know would probably shy away from adjusting an accutrigger any lower than Savage will allow. Same for a Rifle Basix. There is a bit of loose tolerance in a Savage action to attempt a real light trigger pull and be safe. You might be able to locate a used Target type accurate trigger (Red Blade for a Reason) that you can install and it may get you lower.
If you are not a competition shooter, I would practice with the trigger you have until it's a smooth repetition for you.

RifleBasix SAV-2 is a good trigger for a Savage rifle. They claim 4oz but I set mine at 14oz and I like it. The SAV-2 has some detractors and it is not the easiest trigger to set up but it is better than the accutrigger (IMHO).
I think Jard has a trigger they are claiming 6oz and it has its own sear, but I have no experience with it.

Thanks guys I am not really looking for the lightest trigger. I would think somewhere in the 1-2lb range would be fine. I just know right now the accutrigger I have is not very good well over 3lb. I have another gun with the accutrigger and it is not bad. It adjusted to a much lighter pull.

Check out Trigger Tech. It is a sweet trigger. However, I don't know if they make models for a Savage.

I've retrofitted all my Savage Varmint AccuTriggers with Target AccuTriggers purchased used off the boards. The one on my 308 used for targets is so light, I'm frequently breaking the shot before I wanted to, especially after shooting another rifle for a while.

I looked at kits for Axis triggers. Mostly they were shim kits to make them less wobbly.

Eventually I got an Axis II which had the Accu-trigger but I decided to get a package of shims any way, they were 0.008" thick with an i.d. of about 0.150" and an o.d. of 0.25" I think.

I think I used about 10 shims in my trigger, trigger hanger and sear (a 110 style Accu-trigger would need less), then I did the Accu-trigger spring swap and wound up with a 14 oz trigger that is a lot less wobbly than before the shims. I would say it is pretty crisp, not quite a Bix n' Andy or Triggertech Diamond but not bad at all.

Before all that the trigger pull was a bit over 3 lb so the difference is large.

It still passes a slam test so I'm not worried about unintentional dischargd

My Savage has the "regular" Accu-trigger and I was unable to get it below 3#. I ordered a "target" replacement spring that was supposed to allow me under 2#. No such luck. Just as heavy as the original. I figured that now I had two springs in case I screwed one up, I would try shortening the spring. Working very slowly, I cut 1/2 of a coil off at a time until I got to 20 ounces. After smacking the cocked receiver with a 4# rubber mallet a dozen or so times without it tripping, I decided that it was secure. Haven't changed it in about two years and no issues. Certainly not competition level, but as low as I am comfortable with for a field gun. As with any amateur modification, proceed at your own risk. It worked for me but may create an issue for you.

Well, I may have led you down the wrong path. You have, indeed deceived a wealth of good advice and should be able to decided and make a wise decision.
My apologies,
