What scope bases and rings

The Ken Farrell picatinny rail is a perfect fit on both of my Savage 12 Target actions - no epoxy bedding needed at all. It's available for these actions without slope or with 20-MOA, the latter the normal choice for a long-range rifle.

With one of these rails fitted you can use any Weaver / Picatinny type mount - I'm partial to lever-QD types and find both ARMS and Leupod QRWs very good, but Burris and Leupold Tactical types and lots of similar type mounts designed for really rough handling are very good. With the Savage 12 F you don't have to worry about weight regulations, so a hefty riflescope and equally hefty mounts isn't an issue as it might be with some custom built rifles especially in the more restricted F/TR class.
